ISLAMABAD, Feb 13 (APP): Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has accorded his approval to the appointment of Naseem ul Zaman as Commandant National Police Academy. While Major General (Retd) Tariq Rasheed was appointed as Ambassador of Pakistan in Mauritius, said PM Office Media wing in its press release on Saturday.

PM approves increase in stipend for BISP beneficiaries

ISLAMABAD, Feb 13 (APP): Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has approved increase in the annual stipend to Benazir Income Support Progamme (BISP) beneficiaries from Rs. 18,000 to 18,800 per annum. Finance Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, in a statement here Saturday, said that he had detailed discussion with the Prime  Minister regarding increase in the stipend for BISP beneficiaries.

BISP beneficiaries to get enhanced grant of Rs 4700: Marvi

BADIN, Feb 13 (APP): Chairperson Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), Marvi Memon Saturday said that the grant to BISP beneficiaries  had been increased from Rs 4500 to Rs 4700 per month by March, 2016. Talking to Media persons at Badin Press Club, she pointed  out that the balance difference of 8-months of Rs 200 would also be  paid by this March.

FIA apprehends 1245 proclaimed offenders in 2015

ISLAMABAD, Feb 12 (APP): Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has apprehended 1245 proclaimed offenders wanted in different cases including human trafficking during 2015. The Agency, as per direction of Minister for Interior and Narcotics Control, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan had launched a campaign against proclaimed offenders and made 911 such arrests during 2014.

WASHINGTON, Feb 12 (APP): The US security assistance to Pakistan contributes to counter-terrorism operations, a State Department spokesman said on Thursday, adding that the country was an important partner in the region in achieving a stable and secure Afghanistan. At a regular press briefing at the State Department, spokesman Mark Toner said counter-terrorism operations by Pakistan reduced the ability of militants to use Pakistani territory to carry out terrorist attacks and as a base of support for insurgency in Afghanistan.
