SIALKOT, Apr 10 (APP): Federal Minister for Defence, Water and Power Khawaja Muhammad Asif on Sunday, held an open kutchery here at PML-N House Paris Road.
He listened the complaints and problems of the people sympathetically and issued orders on various applications to provide relief to the applicants.
Local MPA Ch. Muhammad Ikram, PML-N leaders Ch. Ikhlaq Ahmed, Babar Khan, Mehmoodul Hassan, Farooq Ghuman and Nusrat Jamshaid Malik (President PML-N Women Wing Sialkot City) were also present on the occasion.

US Exim bank shows interest in Pakistan's investment opportunities

ISLAMABAD, Apr 10 (APP): Chairman of Exim Bank of the
USA, Fred P. Hochberg on Sunday evinced keen interest in investment opportunities in Pakistan and stated that the Exim Bank would facilitate US investors for investment in the country.
In a meeting with Senator Muhamamd Ishaq Dar here, the Exim Bank chief also appreciated the economic achievements of the government.
US Ambassador David Hale accompanied the visiting dignitary on the occasion.
Welcoming the guest, Finance Minister briefed the Exim Bank chief about the current profile of the economy saying that Pakistan after having achieved macroeconomic stability was now fully focused on economic growth and job creation.

Punjab govt to spend Rs 70 billions on water projects: Shehbaz

ISLAMABAD, Apr 10 (APP): Chief Minister Punjab, Shehbaz Sharif has said that his government would spend Rs 70 billion on projects of clean water in the province during next two years.
Talking to a private news channel, he said road projects, metro bus service, Technical College and the project of Nawaz Sharif Zari (Agriculture) University were underway in Multan.
The CM said that Punjab government had initiated a number of development projects in the province that were also producing employment opportunities for the youth.

RAWALPINDI April 10 (APP): The Director Generals of Military Operations (DGMOs) of Pakistan and India on Sunday, hotline contacted in the backdrop of ceasefire violation by Indian army on late Saturday.
On April, 10 2016 at 1330 hours, hotline contact between DGMOs of’ Pakistan and India was established in the backdrop of ceasefire violation by Indian Army on night 9/10 April 2016, an Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) news release here stated.
“Issues related to subject ceasefire violation across the line of control were discussed,” during the hotline contact, it said.

No major damage reported in aftermath earthquake: NDMA

ISLAMABAD, Apr 10 (APP): Chairman, National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) Major General Asghar Nawaz Sunday said no major damage was reported in the aftermath earthquake.
Talking to APP, he said that teams of NDMA in all districts
had started the survey for getting information about the loss in earthquake.
He said that earthquake hited for-flung areas of the country,
therefore informations about loss could recieve late.

Marvi asks Bohra community to help impart skills to poor women

of Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), Ms. Marvi Memon, has sought the cooperation of Bohra Community to impart skills to the poor women who are beneficiaries of BISP.
This she stated while talking to media after the inaugurating
a day-long Bohra Women Talent Expo and Food Festival at Al Jamea Safiya Playground here on Sunday.
On the occasion, various stalls were set up including those of
handicrafts, eatables and paintings.

Sangeeta opposes stereotype film

Begum said that era of vulgar and fights in films had gone
and now people wanted to enjoy with film of unique subjects
with good music and songs.
Talking to APP here on Sunday, she said that she refused to accept the directorship of stereotype films and focusing on new subjects.
She said that her under production film “Tum Hi to Ho”
was musical and romantic film and would be liked by the people at box office. At present, she said, the adoption of modern technology was necessary to produce better film.

52nd national table tennis championship begins on April 11

MULTAN, Apr 10 (APP): The 52nd national table tennis
championship organized by Pakistan table tennis association
will start from tomorrow (April-11) at gymnasium hall sports
ground.
President Multan table tennis association Khawaja Hassan
Wadood said this while giving press briefing to media persons
about the table tennis championship here at district sports
ground gymnasium hall. He said that they had named the championship as “sports for peace” and the purpose of holding championship was to promote peace in the country.
He said that more than 150 players including one dozen
international players were participating in the championship
from across the country.

Pentangular cricket cup expected from April 19

FAISALABAD, Apr 10 (APP): Pentangular Cricket Cup tournament will commence at Iqbal Stadium Faisalabad here from April 19, 2016.
A spokesman of the Iqbal Stadium said here on Sunday that
Pentangular Cricket Cup is the second major event after Quaid-e-Azam Trophy which was earlier decided to hold at Multan but due to some certain reason, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has changed its venue and now it is expected to commence at Iqbal Stadium Faisalabad from April 19, 2016.
The cricket teams of all the four provinces as well as
Islamabad will participate in the tournament for which security clearance is being awaited.

Aftershocks expected after current earthquake: Director Met Office

ISLAMABAD, Apr 10 (APP): Aftershocks are expected after the severe intensity earthquake of 7.1 at Richter scale which jolted many parts of Khaber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Kashmir and Northern Areas of the country on Sunday afternoon.
Director Earthquake Centre, Pakistan Metrological Department, Zahid Rafih told APP that it was a different earthquake from the previous highest intensity earthquake of 8.1 occurred on October 26, 2015 as its epicenter was towards Tajikistan border in North and North West areas near Waran.
“This is new location and it is expected that land energy would be released in the form of aftershocks”, he said.
