MULTAN, Dec 8 (APP): After LB polls conclusion PML (N) legislators
and like minded politicians are busy networking with aspiring mayor,deputy mayors of Municipal Corporation Multan,
though central leadership of the party will announce final names after conducting interviews of the intending candidates.
Out of total 68 seats of Municipal Corporation Multan,
PML (N) achieved 36 seats, PTI 13, Independents 17 and Pakistan
People’s Party got one seat of chairman and vice chairman,
according to unofficial results.
MPA Rana Mehmoodul Hassan, MPA Ehsanuddin Qureshi, ex-
provincial minister Ch. Abdul Waheed Aaraen, ex MNA Shiekh
Tariq Rasheed, ex MPA Aamir Saeed Ansari and some others are
making efforts in favour of different candidates.
According to local PML N sources,Punjab Governor Malik Rafique Rajwana’s nephew Ejaz Rasool is also in the run for the slot of Mayor,Multan.
However,for the mayorship, Saeed Ansari, Naveed ul Haq, Shiekh Rafique, Ejaz Rasool Rajwana and Munawar Ehsan Qureshi are being considered
strong candidates.From PTI,Adnan Dogar is also a strong contestor for mayorship,sources said.
When contacted,PML-N district president Bilal Butt informed that
PML-N central leadership would finalize names of mayor and deputy mayors. He informed that intending candidates would submit applications
at PML N central office Lahore. So far,none of the candidates has
submitted application.
To a query about expected names of mayors,Bilal Butt informed that currently Saeed Ansari’s name was circulating in the party ranks.However,things would be clear after applications from
intending candidates are turned in.

Park Enclave possession to start from Dec 28

ISLAMABAD, Dec 8 (APP): Capital Development Authority (CDA) would start giving possession of plots to the allottees of Park Enclave housing project from December 28.
Initially, possession in the areas where 100 % development work has been completed will be given while possession in the areas where final touches are being given to finishing work will be handed over by February 2016.
Talking to APP, an official of CDA said that Park Enclave
Housing Project was launched on July 5, 2011 but development work
on this project remained stalled for years, however, present CDA
management not only prioritized the project but also devised an
effective plan and started development work on this project in the
August of last year.
CDA management took concrete steps to root out all
hurdles hindering the development activities and carried out
development on war footing basis. Now, after completion of
development work CDA would start handing over possession to
the allottees from December 28, and finishing work in the
remaining areas would be completed at fast pace, he added.
Project Cost -1 (PC-1) of Rs. 2.68 billion was approved
and after tendering contract amounting to Rs. 1.26 billion, for
the development work was awarded.
This contract covers the construction of boundary wall
and main gate, development of road infrastructure, installation
of tube wells, provision of sewerage system and all other
development works, he said.
Official said the CDA Management promised the allottees to
hand over possession of their plots with in one year and now
CDA is handing over possession to the alloottes in this month
as per its commitment.
Chairman CDA, Maroof Afzal directed the project
director to ensure completion of finishing work in next few
days so that possession could be handed over by December 28
this year.
He directed to accelerate the pace of finishing work and asked to submit daily progress report in this regard.He said that Park Enclave is a pleasant addition to the housing facilities in the Federal Capital.He appreciated the efforts of the relevant formations for ensuring quality in the development project.
