AJK government failed to serve masses: Barjees

RAWALAKOT, May 16 (APP): Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan, Chaudhry Barjees Tahir on Monday said that PPP government in AJK had failed to serve the masses.

Addressing the PML-N Workers Convention here, he said Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif had announced billions of rupees for development projects in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

He said the Prime Minister had raised the Kashmir issue at every international fora including United General Assembly effectively.

Yasir Shah unlikely to be included in England-bound squad

ISLAMABAD, May 16 (APP): Pakistan leg-spinner Yasir Shah is unlikely to be included in the squad for the tour of England which is scheduled to begin in July.

Talking to APP, a Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) official said the board had stopped Yasir from joining the training camp underway at the Pakistan Military Academy (PMA), Kakul.

“Yasir has been suffering from a knee injury. He is feeling pain in his left knee and therefore, PCB has stopped him from joining the camp,” he said.

Islamabad U16 Football final trials on Tuesday

ISLAMABAD, May 16 (APP): The final trials to select the Islamabad Under-16 football team will be held on Tuesday here at the Mehran ground G-9/2.

According to Secretary, Islamabad Football Association, Syed Sharafat Bukhari said that players who were born after January 1, 2001 are eligible to participate in the trials.

The selected team will take in the Inter Provincial under16 Football Championship which will be played from May 27 in Gilgit.

Qamar Zaman sees revival of squash

ISLAMABAD, May 16 (APP): Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) vice-president Qamar Zaman Monday while praising the players on retaining the Asian Teams’ Squash Championship title said this is a sign of revival of the game in the country.

Pakistan thumped Hong Kong 2-0 in an outdoor venue in Chinese Taipei on Sunday and clinched the Asian Squash Team Championship title.

Talking to APP, Qamar said the players performed outstandingly well in the mega event.

Zubair Monday said that Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf chief Imran Khan ran from the parliament rather giving clarification on his offshore company.

Talking to a private news channel, he said Imran Khan has caught red
handed after revelation of offshore company in his ownership.

He said that Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif had given briefed
statement in the parliament today on his family business.

COAS reaches Beijing; meets his counterpart

RAWALPINDI, May 16 (APP): Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif on Monday reached Beijing on two-day official visit to the most trusted friendly country.

According to Tweet message by Director General ISPR, Lt. Gen
Asim Bajwa, the Chief of Army Staff will meet senior Political and military leadership during his stay.

After reaching the Chinese capital the COAS met his Chinese counterpart Gen Li Zoucheng at his office and had detailed discussions on various matters.

Governor calls for utilization of natural potentials of southern districts

PESHAWAR, May 16 (APP): Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Engineer Iqbal Zafar Jhagra has said that Allah Almighty has bestowed southern districts with huge natural potentials if it properly utilized, it could change backwardness of these districts side by side the country.

RAWALAKOT, May 16 (APP): Special Advisor to Prime Minister Dr Asif Kirmani Monday said that the miserable performance of Majeed government in Azad Jammu and Kashmir had prompted Bilawal Bhutto
Zardari to hurl personal attacks on country’s leadership.

Speaking to PML-N Workers Convention here, Asif Kirmani said had the Majeed government served the people during their five years tenure, chairman Pakistan People Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari would have avoided trading personal assaults on country’s leadership.

He lamented that had Bilawal Bhutto Zardari visited AJK by road he should have sacked the Majeed government. The people of AJK will teach lesson to those, who used to campaign on helicopters.

Pervaiz Rashid, he said that Imran Khan was preaching people to
invest in the country while he himself invested charity funds in
off-shore companies.

He said that Imran Khan was too smart that he remained silent
about his own off-shore company till it was revealed in the media
and he had to accept it.

speech in the parliament, has given briefed statement on his family business and also presented evidences there.

He said the government was ready to form a commission with consensus of all political parties for investigation on Panama Papers.
