0

PESHAWAR, Feb 25 (APP):Adviser to the Prime Minister Engr Amir Muqam Sunday said the people in majority would vote to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) in the next general election.
Amir Muqam, who is also PML-N Khyber Pakhtunkhwa president, was a public meeting after inaugurating Sui gas supply to Char Bagh, Khawzakhala and Behrain. District Nazim Swat Muhammad Ali Shah, PML-N District President Qamoos Khan, Habib Shah and large number of workers and PML-N supporters were also present.
He said the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) government in KP had failed to deliver and that was why it would not even win a single assembly seat in the province. On the other hand the PML-N leadership always stood with the people whether it was an earthquake, floods, militant acts, or natural calamities, he added.
“Those who are cursing the parliament are receiving salaries for being members of the National Assembly” and the people would reject them in the 2018 general election, he added. The PTI government, he said, had done nothing for the welfare of the masses.
He said expressed the hope that the PML-N would get another five-year term in the government after winning the general election on the basis of performance. It had built infrastructure across the country, he added.
Amir Muqam said the PML-N was committed to develop province while the agenda of the PTI leadership was to derail the development works in the region initiated by the federal government.
He said the PTI had lost the support of the people due to its politics of agitation, including months long sit-in at the parliament.
Highlighting the government’s strong performance in economy, Amir Muqam said Pakistan had recently witnessed significant improvement in infrastructure and energy sectors.
He said the PML-N had focused on building infrastructure and public transportation systems. It had also made certain progress, mainly in its stronghold of Punjab, developing agricultural areas and addressing unemployment. The centerpiece of its political campaign would be the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project, he added.
The CPEC, he said, would change the fate of Pakistan.

BEIJING, Feb 25 (APP): The Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee has proposed the removal of the expression that the President and Vice-President of the People’s Republic of China “shall serve no more than two consecutive terms” from the country’s Constitution.
Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era was also proposed to be included in the Constitution, according to a proposal on the revision to the country’s Constitution, which was made public Sunday.
Another recommended constitutional change includes listing a supervisory commission as a new state organ, China Global Television Network (CGTN) said.
According the CPC document, supervisory organs will be listed together with administrative, judicial and procuratorial organs of the State, all of which are created by people’s congresses to which they are responsible and by which they are supervised.
A new section about supervisory commissions is proposed to be added to the third chapter titled “The Structure of the State” in the Constitution.
Also included is a sentence stressing the Party’s leadership will be added to the fundamental law.
“The leadership of the Communist Party of China is the defining feature of socialism with Chinese characteristics,” the document said.
The announcement follows a Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee group study session on Saturday, during which Chinese President Xi Jinping, also the general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, stressed the important role of the Constitution.
Highlighting its supreme status, Xi said, “No organization or individual has the power to overstep the Constitution or the law. All activities that violate the Constitution and laws must be reprimanded and rectified.”
The proposal further suggested writing building “a community with a shared future for humanity” into the Constitution, and that China’s adherence “to the peaceful development path and the mutually beneficial strategy of opening-up” should be added to the preamble.
Other changes to the Constitution have been brought forward, including adding core socialist values, and the mechanism that all state functionaries should pledge allegiance to the Constitution upon assuming office .
The second plenary session of the 19th CPC Central Committee adopted the proposal concerning amending China’s Constitution in January, giving full play to its important role in advancing the rule of law in all areas and modernizing national governance system and capacity.
China’s current Constitution was adopted on Dec. 4, 1982 and has been amended four times – in 1988, 1993, 1999 and 2004. The proposal for a fifth amendment will be later explained and put towards a vote to be legalized at the annual session of National People’s Congress (NPC) in March when the 13th NPC convenes its first session.

An APP Feature by Seema Mir

ISLAMABAD, Feb 25 (APP): In the Holy Quran Allah says ,”I have not inflicted any disease on the mankind that has no cure.”That can be rightly inferred as: in the seasonal fruits and vegetables lies the hidden treasure of essential vitamins and minerals that can be utilized for prevention and cure of deadly diseases as well as improvement of overall health.
One such fruit is orange that being abundant these days is irresistible. . It merits a mention here that Pakistan is reportedly the sixth largest producer of oranges in the world and hence the oranges are in access to the common man, becoming the fruit of community and not that of nobility.
A medical practitioner Dr. Shazia Durrani said that it was better to take vitamins and minerals in a natural way through fruits and vegetables than taking their supplements.
When asked about the nutritional benefits of the oranges she said oranges were very good for health as these have essential vitamins and minerals and one of them is Vitamin C.
Vitamin C , she said was not only good for immune system but also for circulatory system, maintenance of healthy energy system, for skin and eye diseases as well as for brain function.
Elaborating, she said, “Vitamin C keeps a guard against fatal diseases like osteoporosis, type 2 diabetes, multiple sclerosis and many common cancers.”
About the recommended dose of vitamin C, she said taking a tablet of 1000 mg of vitamin C daily can help boost your immune system.
When her advice was sought about taking orange juice daily, she said,”If you drink more than one glass of orange juice a day,you will be still nowhere near the amount of vitamin C that will cause problems with your body; but, as with any other nutrient, it is always a good idea to talk to your doctor before taking massive amounts of any sort of nutrient or supplement.”
Researches have shown that just one orange has about 100 mg of vitamin C which is 130 percent of the daily recommended intake.
It can be recalled that not very long ago people used to eat oranges while sitting in the sun, being ignorant of benefits of their practice.
About the practice, medical science says, as sunshine is the best source of Vitamin D and this vitamin along with Vitamin C assists in absorbing calcium from the intestines for onward transmission to the body thus making it healthy and preventing it from ailments.
Dr. Shazia advised ,” We should go out in the sun for about 15 minutes a day , at least three times a week in winters.
