Success of PML N candidate in NA 257 bye election victory of brighter Pakistan: PM

ISLAMABAD, Apr 29 (APP): Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on Friday congratulated the PML N candidate, Khalid Magsi on his victory in the NA 257 bye elections.

He said it was not just the success of PML N but victory of the people of Balochistan and brighter Pakistan.

“It is the victory of efforts for bringing peace in Balochistan. It is the victory of continued journey of progress and prosperity in Balochistan, It is the victory of upcoming fruits of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor in Balochistan,” the Prime Minister maintained.

President accords assent to Foreigners (Amendment) Bill, 2016

ISLAMABAD, Apr 27 (APP): President Mamnoon Hussain on
Wednesday approved advice of the Prime Minister and accorded his
assent to the Foreigners (Amendment) Bill, 2016.

The Bill seeks further to amend the Foreigners Act, 1946 has
now become a law after the President’s approval.

The summary was initiated by National Assembly Secretariat.
The Foreigners (Amendment) Bill, 2016 was passed by Lower House of
Parliament in its last session held during the current month.

Zarb e Azb operation to continue till elimination of last terrorist: Mamnoon

ISLAMABAD, April 29 (APP): President Mamnoon Hussain
Friday said that Operation Zarb e Azb was progressing
successfully that would continue till complete elimination of the last terrorist.

Talking to Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Iqbal Zafar
Jhagra, who called on him at the Aiwan e Sadr, the President
said that the government was committed to bring Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) at par with other areas of the country by completing ongoing development projects and providing socio economic amenities to improve the standard of life of the people.

President Mamnoon expressed the government’s resolve for
timely repatriation and rehabilitation of Temporarily Displaced Persons (TDPs) and said that the damaged infrastructure would be rebuilt and economic incentives would be provided for bringing the life back to normalcy in the region.

COAS installs Maj. Gen Tauqeer as Col Comandant of ASC

RWALPINDI April, 29 (APP): Maj Gen Muhammad Tauqeer Ahmad on Friday was installed Colonel Commandant of Army Services Corps (ASC).

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif pinned the badges of rank at a ceremony held at Army Service Corps Centre, Nowshehra, an ISPR news release here stated.

The COAS also interacted with veterans of the Corps.

JF 17 gets vast exposure in Morocco Air Show

ISLAMABAD, Apr 29 (APP): Pakistan’s JF 17 got vast exposure in an air show held at the Menara Air Force base in Morocco.
Fifty six countries are participating in the Air Show
with forty Air Chiefs attending mostly from Africa and the Middle East providing Pakistan’s JF 17 vast exposure in the African continent for the first time, said a press release received here.

A JF 17 Business Division team led by Air Vice Marshall
Arshad Mehmood Malik held an impressive presentation of the equipment and services offered by the Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC) at the International Air Show.

This was the first presentation by the team in Africa
and was arranged by the Embassy of Pakistan, Rabat.
The JF 17 team is visiting Morocco on the invitation of Pakistan’s
Ambassador to Morocco Nadir Chaudhri.

Minister Senator Ishaq Dar, Chairperson BISP comes live on Radio
Pakistan along with Case Management Specialist Ahmer Athar on weekly
basis.

BISP beneficiaries from all the provinces including FATA,
Gilgit Baltistan and Kashmir inform the chairperson about their
grievances and discuss problems.

“Despite his decision on setting up Commission led by Chief Justice in accordance with the desire of all political parties, the opponents have changed their stance and are politicking with hollow slogans,” the Prime Minister said in his separate meetings with the parliamentarians.

The Members of Parliament who met the Prime Minister here at the PM House included Sardar Muhammad Irfan Dogar (NA-134), Alam Dad Laleka (NA-189) and Mian Najeebuddin Awaisi (NA-184).

Envoys from different countries present credentials to Prsident

ISLAMABAD, April 29 (APP): Envoys designate of United Kingdom, Indonesia, Japan, Argentina, Ecuador and Lithuania presented their credentials to President Mamnoon Hussain on Friday at an impressive ceremony held at the Aiwan-e-Sadr.

Earlier, each envoy-designate arrived at the main gate of the Aiwan-e-Sadr in a horse driven carriage. On the occasion, the National Anthem of Pakistan and their respective countries were played and the envoys designate were also presented Guard of Honour.

Later, the High Commissioner and Ambassadors separately called on the President.

UK Home Secretary phones Interior Minister

LONDON, Apr 29 (APP): Minister for Interior, Chaudhry Nisar
Ali Khan has said the present government took major initiatives
to bring improvement in different sectors with particular focus on energy, security and economy.

“The situation is not ideal and there is scope for a lot of
improvement. We are endeavoring to try and focus on two high priorities of our government security and economy,” the Minister was addressing an annual dinner of Pakistan Society here.

He invited British businessmen to invest in projects of China
Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) a very ambitious $ 46 billion
infrastructure project.

Governor KPK calls on Prime Minister Sharif

ISLAMABAD, April 29 (APP): Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Friday said future of FATA would be decided as per the wishes and popular will of the people and no decision will be imposed on the tribesmen.

He was talking to Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Iqbal Zafar Jhagra  on matters related to development of FATA, here at the PM House.

The Prime Minister said the government was very much alive to the needs for FATA reforms. While appreciating the spirit of patriotism of tribal people, the Prime Minister said tribal people had left their homes and native places for great national cause and their sacrifices would never go in vain.
