PESHAWAR, Mar 23 (APP):Adviser to Prime Minister and PMLN Provincial President Engr. Ameer Muqam has said that Pakistan Muslim League is a founder political party and today on the 78th Pak Day we are renewing our pledge for sovereignty and solidarity of the motherland.
He expressed these views while addressing a function in connection with celebration of 78th Pakistan Day held here by PMLN on Friday. The function among other was attended by large number of party workers.
Ameer Muqam said that few so-called political leaders are trying to sabotage the development process for accomplishing their personal interest, and we could no more afford experiments in the province.
He said that PMLN could not be weaken by so-called dharnas and during next general elections, people of Khyber Pakhunkhwa would reject politics of those entities who converted Peshawar into city of ruins.
Engr. Muqam said that PMLN would win the next general elections. He said that Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif is the only leader who had strong relations between masses and no one can remove his love from the hearts of people.
He said that party workers are real assets and I am always there to solve their problems.

Flag lowering ceremony at Wagah border
LAHORE, Mar 23 (APP):An impressive flag lowering ceremony was held at Wagah Border here on Friday, which was witnessed by a sizeable number of people.
The flag lowering ceremony is a routine practice. People from all walks of life visited the Wagah border to attend the ceremony and express love with their motherland.
The air echoed with the slogans of ‘Allahu Akbar’ ‘Ya Rasool Allah (PBUH)’ ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ and ‘Jevay Jevay Pakistan’.
Most of the people especially children were dressed in green and white coloured clothes in accordance with the celebrations of the 78th Resolution Day of Pakistan. They were also carrying national flags and placards inscribed with slogans in favour of Pakistan.
KP FATA celebrate 78th Pak-Day with national fervor, zeal pledging to promote harmony
PESHAWAR, Mar 23 (APP):The people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Federal Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) Friday celebrated the 78th Pak-Day like other parts of the country with traditional zeal and fervor and renewed pledge to work with unison and harmony for sovereignty and solidarity of their motherland by arranging score of event to mark the day in a befitting manner.
Pakistan Day commemorates the passing of the Lahore Resolution on March 23, 1940, when the All-India Muslim League demanded a separate nation for the Muslims of the British Indian Empire.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Eng. Iqbal Zafar Jhagra decorated a number of personalities with Sitara-I-Imtiaz and Tamgha-I-Imtiaz in recognition of their illustrious achievements in their respective disciplines at the Investiture ceremony held at the Governor’s House, Peshawar on Friday.
The police officials of the province were decorated with Quaid e Azam Police Medals and President’s Police Medals in the said function.
Besides, Inspector General of Police Salahuddin Mehsud, members of the provincial cabinet, Parliamentarians both from the Province and FATA, Senior Civil and Military officials, relatives and well-wisher of the recipients of the award attended the ceremony.
Commissioner Peshawar Shahab Ali Shah chaired a special function at Al-Asar High School Nauthia Jadeed to mark the Pakistan Day. Commissioner in his address said that future of the young generation solely was in the hand of the teachers. He underscored the need for character building in the educational institutes.
A flag hoisting ceremony to mark the 78th Pakistan Day was held at provincial headquarters of Rescue 1122 here on Friday.
Media Coordinator for the Rescue 1122 Muhammad Shafique said, District Emergency Officer Hasan Dad performed the flag hoisting ceremony. The event was attended by the Emergency Officers and officials of the department. The contingent of Rescue 1122 presented salute to the national flag.
In his address Hasan Dad said that March 23 was a day of Pakistan becoming reality and creation of a separate Islamic State in the sub continent.
He said that we make a pledge today that we will not hesitate to offer any sacrifice for the country’s solidarity and survival. Every citizen has to make a solemn pledge we will leave no stone unturned in making Pakistan a citadel of peace, harmony and a developed country among comity of nations.
In Lower Dir, Pakistan Day was also celebrated across the district as various organizations took out rallies with the support of the District administration to mark the day which were largely participated by the cross section of the society.
Deputy Commissioner Sarmad Saleem Akram led the solidarity rally attended by thousands of people. The DC said that anti-states design of the conspirator would be foiled with the iron hands. Meanwhile, Anjuman-e-Tajraan Dir Lower also took out a rally from Balambat to Timergara Bazar. Similarly, a two days festival was also arranged in connection with the day wherein traditional games were played.
In Shangla, Pakistan Day was celebrated in government and private schools with great pomp and show. Main function of the day was held at Centennial Model High School attended by students, parents, journalists and people from cross section of society.
In Nowshera, March 23 function was held at Govt. Girls Degree College which was addressed by students who threw light on the importance of the day. College Principal Madam Rozina Rehman was guest of honor in the function.
In another function held at Post Graduate College Nowshera under chair of Deputy Commissioner Nowhsera Kh. Muhammad Sikandar Zeeshan. Speaking on the occasion, DC said that we have to shun the policies of dependence on others and make progress and development as our target for young generation. On the occasion, flag hoisting ceremony was also held and district police present salute to the national flag.
In Abbottabad, Additional Deputy Commissioner performed the flag hoisting ceremony and congratulated the nation over the celebration of 78th Pakistan Day. It’s a day of renewing the pledge as our forefathers had laid the foundation of Islamic Republic of Pakistan on this day on 1940.
In Hangu, Assistant Commissioner Hangu Yusaf Kareem performed the flag hoisting ceremony at a graceful ceremony to mark the 78th Pakistan Day here at DC Office here on Friday.
A smart contingent of the district Police presented salute to the national flag followed by a Dua for the solidarity and prosperity of the country.

In Skardu, the 78th Pakistan Day was celebrated in Gilgit Baltisitan with renewed pledge and commitment to make Pakistan an Ideal Islamic welfare state according to the dream of the father of the Nation and Poet of East.
In this connection functions were held under auspices of different literary, educational, social, political and cultural organizations in Skardu and other Districts. Main event of the day was held at Aiwan-e-Iqbal Skardu under auspices of Bazme-Ilm-o-Fun.
In Parachinar, Kurram Agency a colorful function was held on the eve of 78th Pakistan Day which also included Youm-e-Pakistan Rally attended by school children, tribal elders, personnel of the security forces and political administration.
A solidarity rally was also taken out from Edhi Park in Parachinar led by Brig. Akhtar Aleem which was also attended by Political Agent Basir Khan and tribal elders. The participants of the rally shouted Pakistan Zindabaad slogans.
In Kohat district, Pakistan Day function was also held at Police Lines where special parade was arranged to mark the day. The function was attended by RPO Awal Khan, DPO Abass Majeed Marwat, SP Investigation Jehanzeb Khan and SP Operation Jameel Akhtar.
In Khyber Agency, the political administration arranged special function at Jamrud in connection with Pakistan Day attended by APA Zahid Usman Kakakhel and tribal elders. On the occasion, national flag was also hoisted while the smart contingent of Khasadar force presented salute. APA Zahid Usman presented awards among heirs of Shuhadas.
23rd March reminds to make country Islamic welfare state: Ansari

Complex, he said the resolution adopted on March 23, 1940 had fixed
a clear target for Muslims of the sub-continent to get a separate
homeland where they could live independently and practice on Islamic principles. He said that Quaid-e-Azam after the adoption of the
resolution launched a historic movement and within a short span
of seven years the cherished objective was achieved.
He also remembered the sacrifices offered by forefathers and
said that nation should pay best tribute to those who had laid down
their lives for a separate homeland for Muslims of sub-continent.
He said that after achieving the objective of independence, we all
are now duty bound to work for its progress and prosperity.
He said that Pakistanis living in every corner of the world
were celebrating Pakistan Day.
He underlined the need for keeping alive the spirit of Pakistan Movement and said that only with this spirit, we can save Pakistan
from internal and external conspiracies and put it on road to progress
and prosperity.

Flag hoisting ceremony held in Tokyo to mark National Day
ISLAMABAD, March 23 (APP):An impressive ceremony was held at the Embassy of Pakistan in Tokyo to commemorate the 78th anniversary of National Day of Pakistan.
Ambassador Asad M Khan hoisted the National Flag while the audience recited the National Anthem of Pakistan, a message received here Friday said.
The ambassador read the messages of president and prime minister of Pakistan. The messages urged the countrymen to follow the teachings and principles laid down by the founding fathers so as to make Pakistan a lively and determined nation for the stability and supremacy of the homeland.
The message further emphasized upon making a firm commitment to adhere to the national objectives and goals besides promoting love and harmony to secure the future of the nation.
The ambassador in his speech stressed that the spirit of unity, harmony and sacrifice showed during the Pakistan Movement need to be continued with the same zeal so that Pakistan progresses on the path of prosperity and development.
Khan lauded the efforts of the Pakistani community who is significantly contributing towards the progress of both Japan and Pakistan.
He said the embassy with the collaboration of the Pakistani community would work together to further strengthen the bilateral relations between Japan and Pakistan in all fields.

Dubai’s tallest Burj Khalifa goes green on Pakistan Day
ISLAMABAD, Mar 23 (APP):Burj Al Khalifa, the tallest skyscraper in the world, lit up with green and white spectacular LED illumination of the Pakistani national flag on Friday to celebrate the country’s 78th Pakistan Day.
While flag hoisting ceremonies was also be held at the Pakistan Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Pakistan Consulate General in Dubai.
The Pakistani nation marks March 23 as the Pakistan Day commemorating the passage of Lahore Resolution in 1940, when the Muslims of the Subcontinent demanded a separate homeland, Private news channel reported.
The light shows attracted large crowds from Pakistani community based in Dubai and elsewhere in UAE, who were seen humming the Pakistan’s national anthem outside the Dubai Mall.

Flag hoisting ceremony held in Brussels to mark National Day of Pakistan
ISLAMABAD, March 23 (APP):To mark the Pakistan Day, a flag hoisting ceremony Friday took place at the Embassy of Pakistan in Brussels.
Pakistan’s Ambassador to Belgium, the European Union and Luxembourg, Naghmana Alamgir Hashmi raised the flag of Pakistan with national anthem playing in the background.
According to a press release, the ceremony was attended by Pakistani community in large number living in Belgium and Luxembourg with great zeal and fervour.
In her address Ambassador Hashmi appreciated the role of Pakistani diaspora. She said while we celebrate Pakistan Day in Belgium, the fervour of Pakistani community proves the love of diaspora for their country, even if they are away from their mother land.
She said now Pakistan is emerging as growing economy, it is important that overseas Pakistanis make investments in Pakistan rather than investing in other countries.
The messages of president and prime minister were read by Minister Economic Omar Hameed and Deputy Head of Mission Asif Hussain Memon respectively.
The ceremony was conducted by head of Chancery, Giyan Chand. Students from Ghent Saba Kazmi, Rida Kazmi and Nida Kazmi presented national songs on the occasion.
National Day hosted in Tokyo
ISLAMABAD, March 23 (APP):The Ambassador of Pakistan to Japan, Asad M Khan Friday reaffirmed the commitment to further strengthen the bilateral relations between Pakistan and Japan in areas of trade, investment and development cooperation.
He said this in a grand reception hosted by the Embassy of Pakistan in Tokyo to commemorate the auspicious occasion of National Day, a message received here said.
The ambassador in his speech highlighted the vision of the founding fathers as laid out on March 23, 1940 and the subsequent democratic struggle spearheaded by the father of the nation Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah which resulted in the creation of Pakistan in 1947.
He also underlined the importance of close historical Pakistan-Japan relations and deep sentiment of warmth and affection that the people of the two countries share with one another
He underscored the renewed interest in both capitals to further intensify high level exchanges and to deepen business and investment linkages.
In this regard, he made special reference to the visit of Foreign Minister Taro Kono to Pakistan which provided a great opportunity to both sides to share their vision for promoting peace, stability and prosperity.
The ambassador also referred to the improved security situation in Pakistan and the resultant economic turnaround duly recognized and acknowledged by International Financial Institutions and credit rating agencies. He added that JETRO’s 2017 survey rated Pakistan as the top destination for Japanese companies for expected profits and plans for expansions of operations.

Parliamentary Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs Manabu Horii, in his remarks said Japan and Pakistan have cordial bilateral relations since 1952 and these relations have developed further this year with the visit of Foreign Minister Mr. Taro Kono.

Three out of nine industrial parks under CPEC likely to be built this year: Pak Ambassador
BEIJING, March 23 (APP):Pakistan Ambassador to China, Masood Khalid said on Friday that both China and Pakistan have agreed to establish nine industrial parks in Pakistan under China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) framework and hoped that at least two or three special economic zones could be built this year.
“Outcome of the CPEC is the establishment of many industrial parks and special economic zones. Both the countries have agreed to establish nine industrial parks in Pakistan,” he said in an exclusive interview with the Chinese Edition of “Chine.com.cn.”
He said that China’s experience in establishing special economic zones has been very successful, he said and added,
“We hope that at least two or three special economic zones can be built this year, which means that we will build manufacturing centers, joint ventures, which will give people employment opportunities,” he added.
Ambassador Khalid said that the CPEC has brought work to more than 60,000 people in Pakistan. This is the result of the already-launched project, adding, the development of more projects under the Economic Corridor and the Belt and Road Initiative will lead to more job opportunities, per capita income will also increase, the government will have more funds for the construction of roads, hospitals and schools.
Terming it a holistic and comprehensive process, he said, through continuous and sustained efforts, we can solve the problem of poverty and hope that we can learn from China’s experience in this regard.
He said, Pakistan and China are old friends and their all-weather strategic partnership is based on mutual respect and mutual trust, adding, “Our relationship is very broad and diversified.”
“We have cooperation in many fields, bilateral cooperation, regional cooperation, and cooperation in international forums,” he added.
Ambassador Khalid said, in the past three to four years, we implemented the CPEC project, which is a pilot project and a new project under President Xi Jinping’s “One Belt One Road” initiative.
He opined that President Xi’s “One Belt and One Road” initiative, with a vision for the future and great foresight, will bring peace to this world. Therefore, interconnection will also promote our mutual trust.
Pakistan and China have carried out close cooperation on economic corridor projects, and many projects are steadily advancing.
He informed that about 22 projects are currently being implemented in Pakistan. These projects have the participation of Chinese friends.
“We very much welcome Chinese friends and thank you for your support and cooperation,” he added.
He said both China and Pakistan are developing countries and they must support each other as the two countries understand the problems and challenges that the other party faces.
Ambassador Khalid said, the relations between China and Pakistan have always been relatively close, and they have been related to regional issues, global issues, development and financial issues, and development.
Pakistan has benefited from China’s development experience, he said and added, “There are many things that we have to study, such as achievements in the development of China, as well as in all areas such as rural development, agriculture, industry, information technology, science and technology, education, and so on.”
He said, in education, for example, the cooperation between our two countries is thriving. There are about 22,000 Pakistani students studying in China. They not only study professional courses, they are still learning Chinese here, so one can imagine that they will be future China-Pakistan friendship ambassadors.
Ambassador Khalid said, more people will come to China in the future because China, Chinese culture, and Chinese language are all attractive, adding, “We need to learn Chinese and Chinese friends also need to learn Pakistani (Urdu) and learn Pakistani culture.”
“We complement each other with cultures and complement each other economically, and our views on diplomacy tend to be consistent. There are many aspects that we can learn from each other on the basis of mutual respect and mutual benefit,” he added.
He believed that the relations between Pakistan and China will get better and better, and the two countries will benefit more and more from it.
Regarding to a question about the last years 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China which marked the beginning of a new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics and painted a new blueprint for China’s development in the coming decades, he said, it established China’s future development direction and is a milestone in Chinese history.
The meeting identified China’s future development strategy, including economic development, and its role and contribution in international affairs. Therefore, I think this is a great improvement for China and the world. China has set goals for the next 20 years.
China is now the second largest economy in the world and plays a very important role in international relations.
China has a proactive foreign policy. In terms of domestic affairs, it also strives to achieve the reunification of the motherland and the development of the country.
Therefore, the next 20 years are still of critical importance to China, and it is also crucial for it to fulfil its global obligations, he said.
He said after entering a new era, China will continue to be a leader in new technologies, innovations, and development.
On the impact of China’s development on the world, he said during past five years, China’s contribution to the world economy is 15%, and its contribution to global economic growth is 30%.
He said, President Xi Jinping not only continued to carry out reforms in the past five years, but also launched a new type of international relations based on mutual benefit and mutual respect. This will be of great benefit to the world.
He said looking at China’s development data is really surprising. China’s average growth rate of 7.1% over the past five years has helped lift 68 million people out of poverty.

PML-N not used derogatory language against institutions: Javed
ISLAMABAD, Mar 23 (APP):Pakistan Muslim League -Nawaz (PML-N) Senator Javed Abbasi Friday said his party did not use any unparlimentary language against national institutions.
Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) was habitual to use derogatory language against national institutors and it had attacked parliament and Pakistan Television buildings during sit-ins at D-Chowk, he said talking to a private news channel.
He said all institutions should sit-together and talk on national issues and it was on record that the PML-N government had always called an All Parties Conference (APC) on different matters.
The senator said all political parties were agreed to negotiate to tackle issues under the limits of constitution.
Replying to a question, he said former Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif was disqualified on having an Iqama but not corruption charges. Such decisions against PML-N leaders will not damage the credibility of party, he added.
Javed Abbasi said former Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan was loyal party leader.
Commenting on Pakistan Day, he said Pakistan was created after a lot of sacrifices and struggles of father of the nation Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
He urged all political parties to effectively work for development and prosperity of the country.
