Interior Minister Praises Security Forces for Successful Operation Against Militants in Dera Ismail Khan

ISLAMABAD, Dec 15 (APP):Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Monday paid tribute to the security forces for a successful operation against Khwarij militants in the Kalachi area of Dera Ismail Khan.
In a statement, the interior minister lauded the professional capabilities of the security forces for eliminating seven Indian-sponsored terrorists during the operation. He said the forces demonstrated exceptional courage and professionalism in confronting the militants.
Mohsin Naqvi also paid rich tribute to Naik Yasir Khan, who embraced martyrdom while bravely fighting the Khwarij militants. He expressed heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the family of the martyred soldier, saying that Naik Yasir Khan laid down his life to foil the nefarious designs of the terrorists.
“The bravery and professionalism of the officers and soldiers of the security forces are a source of pride for the entire nation,” the interior minister said, adding that the forces are continuing successful operations against Khwarij militants.
He reaffirmed the government’s resolve to continue operations until the complete elimination of the last militant and vowed that terrorism would be eradicated from the country.

IFA cracks down on sewage-irrigated vegetables, halts cultivation on 32 Kanals in G-15 sector

ISLAMABAD, Dec 15 (APP):The Islamabad Food Authority (IFA) has launched an operation against the use of sewage water for growing vegetables within the city and stopped vegetable cultivation on 32 kanals of land in Sector G-15 after finding that crops were being grown with sewage water.
During a field inspection in Sector G-15, teams found that farmers were using contaminated water to cultivate vegetables on 32 kanals of land. The crops included radish, mint and spinach, which are commonly sold in local markets.
IFA officials immediately stopped the cultivation and destroyed the standing crops to prevent them from reaching consumers. Fines were also imposed on the individuals involved for violating food safety laws.
According to the authority, vegetables grown with sewage water pose serious risks to public health as such water contains harmful contaminants. These vegetables can enter the food chain without proper checks and may cause illness among consumers.
The operation was carried out as part of routine monitoring and surveillance across Islamabad. IFA teams regularly inspect farming areas, vegetable fields and supply points to ensure that safe practices are being followed.
A spokesperson for the Islamabad Food Authority said the protection of public health is the top priority of the department. He added that strict action will continue against anyone found compromising food safety standards.
In this regard, the Deputy Director of Islamabad Food Authority stated that checking is being carried out at every level to ensure the supply of safe food. She said no leniency will be shown to those who endanger public health for financial gain. He further said that awareness is also being created among farmers about safe irrigation methods and the legal consequences of using contaminated water.
Officials confirmed that similar inspections are ongoing in other sectors of the city.
The Islamabad Food Authority urged farmers to use approved and clean water sources for irrigation. It also advised consumers to remain cautious and buy vegetables from reliable sources. The authority said public cooperation is essential to eliminate unsafe food practices from the city.
The department reaffirmed its commitment to continuous monitoring, enforcement of food laws and taking action wherever violations are found.

He said in his mesage that the APS tragedy remains a permanent scar on the nation’s conscience and a moment of collective grief that reshaped Pakistan’s resolve against terrorism. “December 16 reminds us that terrorism has no religion, no humanity and no justification. Our response must always be unity, justice and an unshakeable commitment to protect our children,” he said.
Reaffirming the PPP’s commitment to peace, education and the rule of law, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said the Party stands with the families of the martyrs and will continue striving for a Pakistan where every child can learn, grow and dream without fear. He concluded by saying, “We bow our heads in reverence to the APS martyrs. Their sacrifice will forever guide us towards a safer and stronger Pakistan.”

7 khwarij killed, Naik embraces martyrdom in IBO in D I Khan

RAWALPINDI Dec 15 (APP):Security Forces killed seven khwarij terrorists in an intelligence based operation (IBO) in general area Kulachi, Dera Ismail Khan District, on reported presence of khwarij belonging to Indian Proxy, Fitna al Khwarij.
“During the conduct of operation, own troops effectively engaged the khwarij location and after an intense fire exchange, seven khwarij were sent to hell,” said a news release issued by Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).

However, during fire exchange, brave son of soil Naik Yasir Khan (age: 34 years, resident of District Mardan) having fought gallantly, paid the ultimate sacrifice and embraced shahadat.
Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from Indian sponsored killed khwarij, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities in the area.
“Sanitization operation is being conducted to eliminate any other Indian-sponsored kharji found in the area, as the relentless Counter Terrorism campaign under vision “Azm-e-Istehkam” (as approved by the Federal Apex Committee on National Action Plan) by Security Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies of Pakistan will continue at full pace to wipe out the menace of foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country,” the news release said.

Qatar military attache meets defence minister

ISLAMABAD, Dec 15 (APP):Qatar Military Attache in Pakistan, Brig Gen Abdul Hadi Mohammed Arhib Al Hajri on Monday called on Minister for Defence Khawaja Muhammad Asif here at his office.
 The Minister for Defence welcomed the dignitary and conveyed that Pakistan attached great value to its relations with Qatar, said a press release issued here.

“Qatar is an important country for us and has a key role to play in the region. Our relations with Qatar are very smooth governed by mutual respect and cooperation,” Khawaja said.
The Minister said that both sides need to work closely to further extend their cooperation beyond the economic domain to defence, military exercises and training of personals and joint ventures.  “Our military institutions are open for Qatari Armed Forces to avail maximum training facilities.”
The visiting dignitary acknowledged the existing scope and scale of cooperation in the field of defence between the two countries.

SP City, Christian delegation discuss security arrangements on Christmas

ISLAMABAD, Dec 15 (APP):Superintendent of Police (SP) City Zone Suleman Zafar met a delegation of the Christian community to discuss security arrangements and administrative measures ahead of Christmas celebrations in the federal capital.
An official told APP on Monday that the meeting focused on ensuring foolproof security at churches and religious gatherings during Christmas. The SP assured the delegation that Islamabad Police would take all necessary steps to facilitate peaceful celebrations and protect worshippers.

He said special security plans were being finalised for churches, prayer services and community events, adding that police deployment would be enhanced in sensitive areas to maintain law and order.

Members of the Christian community appreciated the proactive approach of Islamabad Police and shared suggestions regarding crowd management and security coordination. They also expressed confidence in the police arrangements and thanked the SP for engaging with the community ahead of the festive season.
