Azerbaijani President: Establishment of Embassy in Bahrain reflects advancement of bilateral relations

BAKU, Dec 16 (AZERTAC/APP) : “The establishment of Azerbaijan’s Embassy in Bahrain this year is a clear reflection of our bilateral relations reaching a new level and demonstrates the importance we attach to developing our relations, which hold great potential, across all areas,” President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said in his congratulatory letter to King of Bahrain Sheikh Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa on the occasion of the national holiday of the Kingdom.
“I am confident that we will successfully continue our joint efforts to deepen the traditional friendly relations and cooperation between Azerbaijan and Bahrain, built on mutual trust and respect, in line with the interests of our peoples and countries,” President Ilham Aliyev emphasized.

ZamungKor Dera pays tribute to APS martyrs

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Dec 16 (APP): ZamungKor Dera Campus on Tuesday observed the anniversary of the tragic Army Public School (APS) Peshawar attack with deep reverence, dignity, and national spirit.
A solemn ceremony was organized in which children presented tableaus and skits reflecting the APS tragedy while conveying powerful messages of peace, resilience, and hope.
The staff members and children collectively paid heartfelt tribute to the innocent martyrs, remembering their sacrifices and offering special prayers for the eternal peace of the departed souls and patience and strength for their bereaved families.
The speakers highlighted the importance of unity, tolerance, peace, and resilience, emphasizing that education, awareness, and compassion are the strongest tools to counter violence and extremism.
They noted that the values instilled through learning and empathy are essential for building a stable and harmonious society.
The children participated with confidence and enthusiasm, expressing their resolve to contribute to a peaceful, educated, and tolerant future. Their performances and expressions reflected hope, courage, and a collective determination to reject hatred and violence.
Assistant Director ZamungKor Dera Campus, Rafiullah Khan, paid glowing tribute to the APS martyrs and said their sacrifices place a moral responsibility on society to ensure education, protection, and proper upbringing for every child.
He appreciated ZamungKor’s role in rehabilitating and nurturing vulnerable and underprivileged children and stressed the promotion of peace, discipline, and patriotism.
He added that a nation whose true strength lies in its children can never be defeated through violence.
The ceremony concluded with a renewed pledge to remain united against extremism and to work for a safe, peaceful, and brighter future for all children through love, care, and education.

Mock exercises held in Gujrat

GUJRAT, Dec 16 (APP):On the directives of District Police Officer (DPO) Gujrat Rana Umar Farooq, Gujrat Police conducted special mock exercises at various educational institutions across the district to strengthen law and order and assess preparedness for emergency situations.
According to a police spokesperson, the exercises were aimed at evaluating the professional capabilities of police and allied departments in response to potential security threats. Teams from the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), Elite Force, Rescue 1122, Bomb Disposal Squad, Traffic Police and other relevant agencies actively participated in the operational drills.
During the exercises, comprehensive security inspections of school buildings were carried out, while prompt response to suspicious movement was practically demonstrated. The Elite Force conducted rapid action and building clearance operations, Rescue 1122 teams ensured immediate evacuation of the injured and provision of medical assistance, and the Bomb Disposal Squad performed safety sweeps and search operations. The Traffic Police also demonstrated emergency route diversion and effective traffic management.
DPO Rana Umar Farooq said that maintaining law and order was the top priority of Gujrat Police, adding that such mock exercises not only enhance the professional skills of the force but also ensure timely and effective response in emergency situations. He assured that the safety of citizens would be ensured at all costs.

Mian Muhammad Adrees praises CM Punjab’s Vision for ‘Mera Sohna Faisalabad’, stresses industrial legacy

FAISALABAD, Dec 16 (APP):Former President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) and Head of the FCCI National Group,Mian Muhammad Adrees,has praised the vision of Chief Minister Punjab, Maryam Nawaz, to celebrate “Mera Sohna Faisalabad” in a unique and innovative way. He emphasized the importance of highlighting the city’s rich culture, heritage, arts, academics, literature, and trade. However, he also stressed that the industrial strength of Faisalabad should be showcased to provide a holistic view of the city’s achievements and progress since its inception.
He was speaking at a special meeting of a committee formed by Divisional Commissioner Raja Jahangir Anwar to organize the event as a “crowd-pulling” spectacle for the city. The meeting was attended by officials from various government departments, along with President of the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI), Mr. Farooq Yousaf Sheikh, Senior Vice President Mr. Naveed Akram Sheikh, Former President Mr. Shabbir Hussain Chawala, and other notable figures such as Mr. Muhammad Azhar Chaudhary and Mr. Zahid Mehmood Butt.
Mian Muhammad Adrees highlighted Faisalabad’s transformation, crediting the city with nurturing influential personalities who have reshaped the landscape of this once small mandi town. “Today, Faisalabad is known as the textile capital of the world, thanks to its cutting-edge industrial units,” he said. He added that other sectors, including culture, heritage, art, poetry, and literature, have also made significant progress, all thanks to the thriving industrial base.
He noted that the “Made in Faisalabad Expo,” initiated during his tenure as FCCI President in 2004, continues to serve as a platform to highlight the excellence of Faisalabad’s industrialists and artisans. “Similarly, during FCCI’s 50th anniversary celebrations, another successful exhibition was organized, with Mr. Farooq Yousaf Sheikh at the helm,” he added.
Mian Muhammad Adrees also commended Chaudhary Muhammad Azhar for successfully organizing an international-standard economic conference in Faisalabad, and shared plans to organize another “Made in Faisalabad” conference later this year, with Mr. Shabbir Hussain Chawala serving as Chief Coordinator.
He emphasized the importance of collaboration between the FCCI and the Commissioner Office to secure sponsorship for the “Mera Sohna Faisalabad” events, which he believes is crucial for their success and long-term impact.
Mian Adrees shared that past “Made in Faisalabad” events have been highly successful, contributing significantly to the city’s prestige. He also recalled organizing the first-ever air-conditioned exhibition under a canopy at Boharanwali Ground and the “Made in Faisalabad Expo” in Lahore, which achieved record business.
He directed FCCI staff to compile a comparative report of all FCCI-organized expos to keep the legacy of “Made in Faisalabad” alive and ensure continued success.
Looking ahead, he expressed confidence that Faisalabad is fully prepared to take on the responsibility of making the upcoming “Mera Sohna Faisalabad” event a success. “We aim to blend commerce with recreation, making this event both memorable and result-oriented,” he concluded.

Pakistan Halal Authority Awards Certificate to IAC at ICCBS, University of Karachi

KARACHI, Dec 16 (APP):The Pakistan Halal Authority (PHA), Government of Pakistan, has awarded the Halal Testing Laboratory Recognition Certificate to the Industrial Analytical Center (IAC) at the International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS), University of Karachi.
The certificate has been granted to IAC for testing articles to ascertain the halal compliance of products in accordance with recognized halal standards, said a statement on Tuesday.
The recognition has been awarded under the powers conferred by Section 34 of the PHA Act, 2016, read with Section 11 of the Pakistan Halal Authority (Business) Rules, 2021, pertaining to the recognition of laboratories.
This achievement was discussed during a meeting held at the H.E.J. Research Institute of Chemistry, chaired by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Raza Shah, Director of ICCBS. He congratulated all team members on this significant accomplishment.
Prof. Raza Shah stated that this achievement reflects the international recognition of IAC’s strong technical expertise and robust quality assurance practices.
He added that the laboratory, as an integral part of the H.E.J. Research Institute of Chemistry, has reached an important milestone in its pursuit of global excellence in food safety testing.
He further noted that IAC is a commercial entity operating under the auspices of the H.E.J. Research Institute of Chemistry and is equipped with state-of-the-art analytical instruments to meet the specific requirements of various industries. These facilities, he said, make the center one of the finest in the region in terms of instrumental capabilities.
It is pertinent to mention that IAC houses a Halal Testing Laboratory for food and cosmetic products, offering services such as the detection of non-halal ingredients, meat identification, GMO testing, and alcohol determination. The Halal Testing Laboratory has been established to standardize and enhance high-quality nutrition and hygiene standards in halal-certified food and other products, in accordance with international export quality requirements.
