RCCI celebrates 76th Independence Day of Pakistan

RAWALPINDI, Aug 14 (APP): A flag hoisting ceremony was held at the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry(RCCI) to mark the 76th Independence Day of Pakistan.

In his message, President RCCI Saqib Rafiq said that the business community pledges that they will not hesitate to make any sacrifice for the sake of their dear homeland and will continue to play their role in the progress and development of the country.

He said, “It is also a day of happiness; a day of bowing down our heads before Almighty Allah in thankfulness and a day of renewing our pledge that we will continue to struggle with unity and oneness for the objectives, for which Pakistan was created.”

Caretaker Provincial Minister for Primary and Secondary Health Dr Jamal Nasir, Commissioner Rawalpindi Liaqat Ali Chattha, Deputy Commissioner Hassan Waqar Cheema, DG RDA Saif Anwar Jappa along with RCCI President Saqib Rafiq attended the 76th Independence Day of Pakistan and hoisted the flag of Pakistan.

Senior Vice President Muhammad Hamza Sarosh, Vice President Mr Faisal Shahzad, Former Presidents, members of the executive committee and a large number of traders attended the ceremony.

A cake-cutting ceremony was also held to mark the 76th Independence Day of Pakistan.

Totuiaev Ulanbek Asankulovich, Kyrgyzstan Ambassador to Pakistan and Defense Attaché Embassy of Egypt were also present.

SCCI holds flag-hoisting ceremony

SIALKOT, Aug 14 (APP):Leading exporters hosted a national flag-hoisting ceremony at the lawns of Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) here on Monday in connection with Pakistan’s 76th Independence Day celebrations.

SCCI President Abdul Ghafoor Malik hoisted the national flag besides cutting a special cake to rejoice the celebrations at a special ceremony, held at the SCCI auditorium. He highlighted the Pakistan Movement and paid tribute to national heroes over their struggle and role in getting an independent state in the shape of Pakistan for the Muslims of the Indo-Pak Subcontinent, a Pakistan as envisaged by Poet of The East Allama Iqbal.
The SCCI building was illuminated.


SCCI Senior Vice President Wahub Jahangir, Vice President Amer Majeed Sheikh, former SCCI Senior Vice President (SVPs), Vice President (VPs) and a large number of Sialkot exporters attended the ceremony.

UoP celebrates 76th Independence Day

PESHAWAR, Aug 14 (APP):University of Peshawar (UoP) on Monday celebrated the 76th Independence Day with national zeal.

Independence Day was celebrated at the Autism Unit Department of Psychology, University of Peshawar.

Children and their parents were in attendance while Dean Faculty of social sciences Prof. Dr. Johar Ali was the chief guest.

Chairperson Department of Psychology Prof. Dr. Erum Irshad greeted the chief guest and presented him with a bouquet.

The event started with the recitation of the Holy Quran followed by the National anthem. Children who had undergone successful therapy and were presented with gifts and certificates.

Their parents expressed gratitude and shared their views about the unit and their experiences with other parents.

Different activities were arranged for children and their parents to help foster their bonding, increase compliance in children and provide opportunities for fun and recreation.

CM KP visits Police lines to pay tribute to martyrs on Independence Day

PESHAWAR, Aug 14 (APP):Caretaker Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Azam Khan on the eve of Independence Day visited the Police lines here on Monday to pay tribute to martyrs.

During the visit, the Chief Minister paid tribute to the fallen heroes by laying a wreath at the memorial and observed a moment of silence in their honor.

He also offered Fatiha and prayed for the elevation of the martyrs’ ranks.

Accompanying the Chief Minister were Chief Secretary Nadim Islam Chaudhry, Inspector General of Police Akhtar Hayat Khan Gandapur, and other officials.

The Chief Minister’s visit emphasized the significance of remembering and honoring the sacrifices made by the brave martyrs who laid down their lives for the nation’s freedom.

The CM conveyed heartfelt felicitations to the entire nation and especially the people of KP.

He emphasized the importance of renewing the commitment to the ideals that led to the creation of Pakistan and highlighted the sacrifices of the Muslims of the subcontinent.

Chief Minister Azam Khan recognized that Pakistan’s establishment was the culmination of the immense struggle and sacrifices made by millions of Muslims, which has resulted in the current era of peace and prosperity.

He acknowledged the monumental debt of gratitude owed to the forefathers and called for sustained efforts to transform Pakistan into a prosperous and developed nation.

Chief Minister Azam Khan expressed that the birth of Pakistan was the result of the sacrifices made by countless Muslims, and it is due to those sacrifices that Pakistan now breathes in an atmosphere of peace.

He underscored the duty of every citizen to play a role in building a progressive and flourishing nation.

Chief Minister stressed unity among all sections of society, transcending regional, ethnic, and linguistic divisions, for the genuine freedom and development of the country.

He remarked that while the value of the countless sacrifices for freedom cannot be measured, the real purpose of freedom can be fulfilled by living up to the dreams of the forefathers.

In pursuit of this objective, Chief Minister Azam Khan highlighted the necessity of free and sustainable practical wisdom to extricate the country from internal, external, and financial crises, as self-reliance and economic stability are essential for national defense.

He urged everyone to recommit to making Pakistan a great nation according to the vision of its founders and prioritize national interests over political or personal gains.

He also paid tribute to the armed forces, police, and young people who have sacrificed their lives for the defense and security of Pakistan.

First ever International flight arrived at Skardu International Airport

Skardu, Aug 14 (APP):First International flight carrying eighty passengers including one local passenger arrived on Monday morning from Dubai to Skardu International Airport.

CAA, PIA and Local Administration authorities welcomed the passengers at Skardu International Airport.
There was a scene of jubilation today when the flight was landed at Skardu airport direct from Dubai to Skardu when people of Baltistan were observing Independence Day of Pakistan. The flight went back to Dubai from Skardu with passengers after re-fueling.


Refueling facilities were made by the PSO earlier which was not available so far. International flights from different countries to Skardu will be helpful for foreign investment, trade, and tourism.


PIA and CAA authorities hopeful that International tourists, expedition parties and trekkers will directly come to Baltistan through their countries.

The High Commissioner Dr. Mohammad Faisal raised the national flag. The ceremony was attended by the diaspora community and British friends of Pakistan, showcasing unity and friendship, transcending boundaries.

In his address, the High Commissioner extended heartfelt felicitations to Pakistanis on this auspicious occasion, paying homage to Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Pakistan Movement heroes, who created an independent homeland for Muslims of the sub-continent.

Highlighting Pakistan’s journey, the High Commissioner praised its resilience against all challenges. He highlighted Pakistan’s abundant human and natural resources, with a youthful demographic dividend constituting 60 percent of the population, a driving force for economic growth. Dr. Faisal noted the ongoing economic reforms, fostering a business and investment-friendly environment.

Regarding Pakistan-UK relations, the High Commissioner highlighted the historic warmth of bilateral ties, a legacy that bound the two nations. He applauded the burgeoning trade and economic ties, and cooperation in addressing climate challenges, as manifestations of this enduring relationship.

The High Commissioner conveyed heartfelt appreciation to the Pakistani diaspora, recognizing their role as the architects of strengthened ties between Pakistan and the UK, fostering cooperation and understanding.

Dr. Faisal paid tribute to the unwavering spirit of the Kashmiri populace living under Indian occupation. Pakistan’s steadfast moral, diplomatic, and political support for the legitimate self-determination struggle was reaffirmed. The Indian atrocities in IIOJK were highlighted and the international community was urged to put an end their human rights violations.

Parallel celebrations took place at Pakistan Consulates in Birmingham, Manchester, Bradford, and Glasgow, unifying the Pakistani community from across the UK.
