Dr. Akram felicitates Sindh caretaker health minister

HYDERABAD, Aug 26 (APP):Head of the Department of Gastroenterology, Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences, Jamshoro Professor Dr. Akram Bajwa met Sindh Caretaker Minister for Health Dr. Saad Khalid Niaz in his office and congratulated him on assuming the office.
According to a statement, during the meeting, Dr. Akram Bajwa told the health minister that apart from free treatment facilities, medical tests were also being provided to the patients in the gastro ward and expert doctors and paramedical staff were available round the clock to take care of the patients and provide them best medical facilities.
He informed the minister that the endoscopy facility for patients was available 24 hours, which was not available in any other government hospital in the province. Dr. Bajwa informed that soon the gastro ward will be shifted to a new building where all related medical facilities will be provided under one roof.
He requested the provincial health minister for support in removing the obstacles in the new building of the gastro department and providing an endoscopy ultrasound facility, which we desperately need. He said that at present Hyderabad is in dire need of a modern liver transplant unit and efforts should be made to establish this unit.
Hepatitis is increasing rapidly in Sindh. He said that the government of Sindh has appointed him as the focal person of the province’s hepatitis control program and he was trying his best to eradicate hepatitis from all over Sindh by 2030 with my expert team.
Provincial health minister Dr Saad Khalid Niaz listened to the submissions made by Dr Akram Bajwa and assured him to solve problems.

Crackdown against illegal fuel agencies: 11 units, 1935 Irani Diesel agencies seized, 20 arrested

Dera Ismail Khan, Aug 26 (APP):Dera Police during the ongoing operations against illegal fuel agencies and the business of Irani Diesel across the district, arrested 20 accused, and 1935 litres of Iranian diesel with 11 diesel units seized here on Saturday.
According to a police spokesman, District Police Officer (DPO) Abdul Rauf Babr Qaisrani has issued directions to all SDPOs and SHOs across the district to crack down on illegal fuel agencies in their respective areas.
On the direction of the District Police Officer various police stations immediately started action against illegal diesel agencies.
According to the details the Dera Town police station arrested 4 accused and seized 670 litres of diesel and 04 diesel units. While Paharpur police station seized 485 litres of diesel and 05 diesel units and registered cases against 05 accused.
Similarly, the Gomal University police station recovered 265 litres of diesel. Parowa Police took action against the illegal diesel agency and seized 150 litres of diesel.
Yarik police station recovered 100 litres of diesel with 01 diesel unit from 02 illegal agencies and registered cases against 02 accused. Shaheed Nawab Khan police station, acting on illegal diesel agencies, seized 90 litres of diesel and registered cases against 02 accused.
Saddar police recovered 15 litres of diesel and 01 diesel unit seized and registered a case against the accused. Bandkorai police station recovered 120 litres of diesel and registered cases against  03 accused. Cantt police station recovered 43 litres during an operation against illegal diesel agencies and registered cases against 03 accused.
All the accused were arrested as per law and police registered separate cases in different police stations.

Pakistan Army, LUMHS organised medical camp in Matiari district

HYDERABAD, Aug 26 (APP):The doctors of Pakistan Army and Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences (LUMHS), Jamshoro, set up a free medical camp in a Basic Health Unit of Saeedabad taluka of Matiari district on Saturday.
An official of LUMHS informed that the doctors at the camp attended around 3,000 patients who were also given free medicines and drinking water bottles.
According to him, a majority of the patients reported health issues like diarrhea, fever and skin ailments.
The official said quoting the Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Ikram Din Ujjan that the university frequently set up such camps in different parts of the province especially the areas where the people did not have access to quality healthcare.

Two killed, 10 injured on road

KASUR, Aug 26 (APP):Two brothers were killed and 10 others injured in an accident near here
on Saturday.
The Rescue 1122 said a speeding coaster (passenger van) collided with a truck
near Steel Morr, killing Naeen Sarwar and Nadeem Sarwar instantly and
injuring 10 others.
The injured were identified as Noor Fatima, Ummhe Habiba, Sakila, Mansha, Ghulam Fatima,
Fasial Jameel, Matloob and Allah Wasya who were shifted to the Bulleh Shah District Hospital.
Police reached the spot and started investigation.

Mother, son drown in Chitral River

CHITRAL, Aug 26 (APP)::A mother and son from Kaju Bala, Chitral lower, drowned in Chitral River when they returning home after working in the fields in the evening.
According to detail, the search operation began but the mother and son could not be found, the officials of the Rescue-1122 rescue and driver teams confirmed.
“We have tried our hardest to find out both the mother and her son but due to darkness and speedy flow of the river, we could not succeed to find them,” the head of the Rescue-1122 team told the media persons.

It’s time to embrace technology, adopt new ways of doing business: Raja Pervez Ashraf

KARACHI, Aug 26 (APP):Former Speaker of the National Assembly Raja Pervez Ashraf on Saturday said, it was the time to embrace technology and adopt new ways of doing business.
While addressing as a chief guest at Brands of Year Awards Ceremony at a local hotel, he focused on the importance of businesses in making great contribution towards economy of Pakistan.
According to a communique, he said it’s very encouraging to see that business community is playing its role in the betterment of the country. Ashraf reiterated that times have changed. He said that previously one has to sell by going to the market physically and find customers but now this can be done through click of button.
Ashraf said that he has also made it mandatory that such IT skills should be taught to young people in his constituency so that employment can be generated.
He said that the government is willing to extend its full support to businesses of various categories so that foreign exchange can be generated which will generate employment considering the fact that even in developed countries only 4% of employment can be generated by public sector otherwise it will end in loss making entities adding burden on National exchequer.
Later, he distributed awards to brands of different categories.
