FESCO chief inaugurates Rs 352.812m power projects

FAISALABAD, Aug 28 (APP):Chairman Board of Directors (BoD) Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) Malik Tahsin Awan inaugurated Rs 352.812m power projects in the division on Monday.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony of newly established Kot Momin division and Sial Mor Subdivision, he said that all existing grid stations and LT/HT proposals were being upgraded in addition to constructing new grid stations and establishing new subdivision so that trouble-free service could be provided to electricity consumers.
He said that 132-kV Bhabra grid station was upgraded with an estimated cost of Rs. 144.915 million, whereas Rs. 207.897 million were spent on laying transmission line for the grid station, in addition to installing two new power transformers of 20.26-KVA capacity each at the grid.
He said a new division was established at Kot Momin and a new subdivision at Sial Mor, so that electricity-related complaints of the area could be resolved speedily.
Later, the FESCO chairman cut a ribbon to inaugurate 132-kV Bhabra grid station, Kot Momin division and Sial Mor subdivision. He also planted a sapling to inaugurate tree plantation campaign at the FESCO grids while FESCO officers and others were also present.

16 held for selling fertilisers on higher rates

SARGODHA, Aug 28 (APP):In line with special directives of Deputy Commissioner Sargodha Shoaib Ali, Deputy Director Agriculture Jafar Imran launched a comprehensive crackdown on profiteers and imposed Rs 19 lakh fine collectively on fertilizer dealers for selling the commodity on higher rates.
He also ordered registration of 16 cases against violators in this regard across the district. He said on the occasion that the government would take stern action on daily basis against profiteers.

SARGODHA, Aug 28 (APP): Sargodha police on Monday launched a crackdown on alleged criminals across the district and arrested 15 people and recovered 2-kg charas, 147 litres of liquor, nine pistols and valuables worth millions of rupees from them.

Arshad Nadeem has won a silver medal in the World Athletics Championship.He said that the athlete had made the nation proud.
The chief minister said that  Nadeem had become first Pakistani, who had won the World Athletics Championships.
He said we wanted to promote curricular and physical activities across Sindh.

Gomal University launches short diploma courses for media persons

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Aug 28 (APP):The Gomal University on Monday launched  one-year and 6-month diploma program for journalists.
In this regard, a ceremony was held by the Journalism and Mass Communication Department where the department Chairman Prof Dr. Muhammad Imran Khan briefed the participants about the new programs.
Besides students, a large number of journalists associated with print, electronic and social media including the heads of Regional Information Department and Press Information Department and members of the Dera Press Club participated in the event.
Dr. Muhammad Imran Khan said that the Department of Journalism had produced a number of journalists who had excelled  in print and electronic media at national and international level.
He said that new courses would provide opportunities to learn more about journalism and equip journalists with modern techniques keeping in view the present day’s requirements.
He said it would enable them to perform their duties more efficiently and proficiently in both print and electronic media.
 At the end of the ceremony, all the journalists took round the FM radio and TV studio of the department.

Child killed as pistol goes off accidently

FAISALABAD, Aug 28 (APP):An eight-year-old child was killed when a pistol in his hands went off accidently at a village on Millat Road on Monday.
According to Rescue-1122, Yari Moose Masih, son of Sandal Masih, was playing with a loaded pistol. The pistol went off accidentally and a bullet hit the child, killing him on-the-spot.
The body was handed over to the family.

PITB receives applications for online training

LAHORE, Aug 28 (APP):E-Rozgaar Training Programme, an initiative of the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) and Department of Youth Affairs and Sports, has started receiving applications for its next phase of online training. Last date to secure admission is August 31, 2023.
The unemployed youth bearing Punjab domicile could submit applications for training in seven different fields including Mobile App Development, Technical, Content Marketing & Advertising, Creative Designing, UI/UX Design, Social Media Marketing and e-Commerce. In order to secure admission in the said programme, the age limit is 35 years and 16 years of education is required.
Forty-five e-Rozgaar Centres are operational across Punjab now. Interested candidates can register through the website for online training:www.erozgaar.pitb.gov.pk.
