12 arrested in combing operation

KARACHI, Sep 04 (APP):The Pakistan Rangers Sindh and Police in a joint search and combing operation in Mawach Goth, Keamari arrested 12 suspects and recovered arms and gutka from their possession.

According to a spokesman for Rangers,on Monday, the agencies recovered a 12-bore rifle, two 30-bore pistols and more than 60kg gutka/ mawa and a stolen motorcycle from the accused during the operation.

All arrested along with recovered things were handed over to the police for further legal proceedings.

CPWB rescues 147 beggars children in August

LAHORE, Sep 04 (APP):The Child Protection and Welfare Bureau (CPWB) rescued over 147 beggars children in the provincial capital during the last month of August.
In a press statement issued here on Monday, CPWP Chairperson Sarah Ahmed said that child rescue operations were being carried out in the city on a daily basis due to which decrease in child beggars was observed at major thoroughfares. She added that around 99 boys and 48 girls were taken into custody during the operation.
The chairperson said a total of 626 beggars were taken into custody from various districts of Punjab during the same period. These children would be produced in the Child Protection Court for legal custody of destitute and neglected children.
The chairperson said rescue operations were underway in the limits of all district offices of the CPWB in Punjab, adding that sincere efforts were being made to end child beggary.
The CPWB was lodging 16 cases against people involved in beggary, she said and added that the citizens could report child beggary on the helpline 1121 of the CPWB. The rescue operations were conducted at PU Campus bridge, Main Market Gulberg, Johar Town, Akbar Chowk, Bhatta Chowk, Defence, Barkat Market, Kareem Block Market, Moon Market, MM Alam Road and other spots of the city.

Robbery accused held within three hours

MUZAFFARGARH, Sep 04 (APP):The police recovered the motorcycle, cash and mobile phone 3 hours after the robbery and arrested the two suspects involved in the robbery.

According to the SHO of Mahmood Kot Police Station Imran Afzal, he received a call of a robbery in the vicinity, on which a police team was formed, which succeeded in arresting the accused within a limited time.

The recovered goods were handed over to the victim on the spot.

The SHO expressed his determination to continue action against the criminal elements without discrimination.

He also appealed to the public to cooperate with the security authorities to reduce the crime rate in the district.

 

PM directs devising effective strategy for economic stability

ISLAMABAD, Sep 04 (APP): Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar on Monday directed the Ministry of Finance to devise an effective strategy to bring in economic stability in the country.

The prime minister said this in a meeting with Interim Finance Minister Shamshad Akhtar who called on him here.

The finance minister also briefed the prime minister on current economic situation in the country.

Youth succumbs to bullets injuries

MUZAFFARGARH, Sep 04 (APP):A youth succumbed to bullet injuries by brutal gunshots from an unidentified assailant in peak hours of the day.

As per a police source, Saqib Baloch received two bullet shots on his head and chest at the main GT Road by the attacker who succeeded in escaping suddenly.

The victim, a resident of Basri Kalan was on the motorbike. It’s not ascertained by any source whether the attacker was on foot or riding through some vehicle.

The police crime scene unit with the forensic team reached the spot to collect evidence. It started the investigation.
Rescue staff came over to the crime scene and shifted the body to RHC hospital. Search for the heirs continued to hand over the body, it was said.

them here on Monday.

The raiding team under the supervision of SHO Iftikhar Ahmed Joyea arrested Muhammad Imran ,Naveed ,Muhammad Shehzad,Babar,Shahid, Awaiz, Akram,Sarwar,Nawaz Din,Faisal, Asiya bibi and Ghulam Fareed.
Further investigation was underway.

E-driving license app launched In Faisalabad

FAISALABAD, Sep 04 (APP):The traffic police launched E-driving license app to facilitate the masses for obtaining their driving license online.
A spokesman of City Traffic Police (CTP) said here on Monday that the drivers could download their electronic licenses from the website of Traffic Police Punjab https://dlims.punjab.gov.pk/elicense/ by entering their CNIC numbers and date of birth.
He said that the printout of electronic driving license would be acceptable for all traffic officers and they could verify it from its QR Code.
Various features including colored photo, address and other details of the licensee were added in the electronic driving license and its copy could also be saved in PDF file for its future use, he added.

 

Two drowned in dam

Police said that Khuram Naveed (12) r/o Naryoob area and Junaid (24) r/o Qutab Khail area were taking bath in the dam when they drowned due to fast flow of water .
Further investigation was under way.

Three dacoits arrested in Faisalabad

FAISALABAD, Sep 04 (APP):Razaabad police arrested three dacoits of a gang along with ring leader and recovered 2 looted motorcycles, cash and weapons from their possession.

Police spokesman said here on Monday that SHO Sub Inspector Tariq Ameer on a tip-off conducted raid in Chuhar Majra and nabbed three outlaws of a gang including ring leader Farhan, Owais and Abid who were wanted by the police in a number of dacoity, robbery and other cases.

The police recovered 2 snatched motorcycles, cash of Rs.10,000/-, illegal weapons, mobile phones and other items from their possession while further investigation was underway, he added.

Experts suggested farmers to cultivate sugarcane immediately

SARGODHA, Sep 04 (APP):Experts advised farmers to start the cultivation of sugarcane immediately and complete it on a priority during current month to obtain bumper produce.
According to a spokesman for the Agriculture (Extension) Department, the sugarcane crop cultivated during September was ready for harvest early and would give more yield than the crop cultivated during October and November. He said that sugar was an important commodity which played a pivotal role in catering to food requirements of people whereas its crop could also help the growers in mitigating their financial constraints due to its attractive market value.
Therefore, the farmers should bring maximum land under sugarcane cultivation and use latest technologies for crop sowing and its harvesting as latest techniques would also play a dynamic role in increasing per acre yield.
He also advised the growers to select healthy seed for crop cultivation as health seed was the most important factor in enhancing production. In this connection, the growers should also use hybrid and approved varieties of sugarcane which have most resistance against various diseases besides giving high quality yield.
Among approved varieties of sugarcane for September cultivation included CPF-243, CPF-246, CPF-247, SHF-240, HSF-242, CP-77-400, CP-72-2086, CP-433-33, CPF-237, SPF-245, SPF-234, SPF-213 and SPSG- 26, etc. These varieties have the potential to give 60,000 to 80,000 kg per acre yield, he added.
