ISLAMABAD, Sep 06 (APP): On the occasion of Defence Day, Interior Minister Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti on Wednesday paid tribute to the unwavering dedication and valor exhibited by Pakistan’s armed forces.

In a message addressed to the nation, he highlighted the historic achievements of the nation’s courageous sons who fearlessly confronted the adversary, etching a luminous chapter in history.

The minister offered a solemn salute to the martyrs who rendered the ultimate sacrifice for the homeland.

He acknowledged that Pakistan currently faces multifaceted challenges, including the pressing issues of extremism and terrorism.

He conveyed his unshakable faith in Pakistan’s armed forces, emphasizing their steadfast commitment to safeguarding the nation from both internal and external threats.

Bugti underlined the unity of the nation, asserting that the Pakistani people stand with their valiant armed forces, united in their determination to thwart any nefarious designs targeting the integrity and progress of the country.

Drug peddler held with narcotics

SIALKOT, Sep 06 (APP):District police claimed to have arrested a drug peddler with narcotics, here on Wednesday.
According to police, Nekapura police in a crackdown against drug peddlers and detained a drug peddler identified as Muhammad Boota with 3.120 kg hashish.
Police have sent the accused behind the bars after registering a case in this regard.

ISLAMABAD, Sep 6 (APP):Indian troops and paramilitary personnel continue their cordon and search operations (CASOs) in different districts of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
The troops and paramilitary personnel continue their cordon and search operations on the third consecutive day, today, in different areas of the Reasi district. Earlier, one youth was martyred by the troops in the Gali Sohab area of the district on Monday, KMS reported.
Indian troops during a search operation destroyed a sitting place of nomads and seized two blankets, food and other items in the Paribag area of the Kishtwar district.
The Indian forces’ personnel are also carrying out cordon and search operations in different areas of Kupwara, Baramulla, Bandipore, Pulwama, Kulgam, Shopian, Islamabad, Poonch, Rajouri, Banihal, Samba and Doda districts.
Meanwhile, Indian police during a house raid arrested an innocent youth in the Natipora area of Srinagar city.

Kashmiris pays tribute to Pakistani martyrs of 1965 war on Defense Day

ISLAMABAD, Sep 6 (APP):The people of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir have paid rich tributes to the Pakistani martyrs of the 1965 war on Pakistan Defence Day, today.
While Pakistan is celebrating Defence Day, today, the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir stand with the country to honor the sacrifices rendered by Pakistani soldiers and citizens in defending their motherland against India in 1965.
On September 6 every year, Pakistanis remind the world that the Kashmir dispute is the unfinished agenda of the Pakistan Movement, Kashmir media service reported.
The All Parties Hurriyat Conference leaders including Ghulam Muhammad Khan Sopori, Syed Bashir Andrabi, Khawaja Firdous, Abdul Ahad Parra, Yasmeen Raja, Farida Bahenji, Muhammad Yousuf Naqash, Saleem Zargar, Fayyaz Hussain Jafri, Sibte Shabbir Qummi, Molvi Musaib Nadvi, Junaid-ul-Islam and Muhammad Umar in their statements issued in Srinagar said that when India challenged the existence of Pakistan in 1965, the Pakistani armed forces and the entire nation stood like a leaden wall in front of India’s aggression and thwarted its nefarious designs.
They said India never accepted the creation of Pakistan and right from day one, it has been hatching conspiracies against its security. They prayed for the development and prosperity of Pakistan and said that a strong and prosperous Pakistan is the guarantor of the success of the Kashmir freedom movement.
The APHC leaders said that India had illegally occupied the Muslim-majority state of Jammu and Kashmir in 1947 and since then has been denying the right to self-determination to Kashmiris and also killing them for demanding this right.
They said that Pakistan is a great advocate of Kashmiris’ right to self-determination. They said the Kashmir dispute is the basic cause of tension between Pakistan and India.
They added that the relations between the two countries cannot become normal without settling this dispute in accordance with the UN resolutions.
The APHC leaders said that Jammu and Kashmir is a natural part of Pakistan and its one part is under illegal occupation of India where the Kashmiri people have been struggling to free it from the Indian clutches since 1947.
They said Kashmiris and Pakistanis share strong religious, historical, cultural and geographical bonds and no power on earth can stop Kashmir’s genuine demand to become part of Pakistan.
They maintained that the Kashmir movement is in fact the continuation of the Pakistan Movement as Pakistan will only be complete when the entire Jammu and Kashmir becomes its part.
The APHC leaders said that the founder of Pakistan, Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, had rightly called Kashmir the jugular vein of Pakistan.

Altaf Hussain Wani calls for national unity to thwart conspiracies against Pakistan by hostile forces

ISLAMABAD, Sep 06 (APP):While extending his heartfelt felicitations and good wishes to the government and people of Pakistan on the occasion of defense day, the APHC leader and vice chairman of Jammu Kashmir National Front Altaf Hussain Wani has said that the emergent dynamics in the South Asian region and security threats have made it even more significant that the people and political leadership of Pakistan remained vigilant and prepared to foil the nefarious designs of the hostile forces.
In his statement issued on the defense day of Pakistan, the JKNF leader said that it was high time that the Pakistani nation must demonstrate the same spirit of national unity it had shown to foil India’s naked aggression in the 1965 war.
Referring to the multiple challenges Pakistan has been facing internally and externally, Wani said,” A hybrid war imposed on Pakistan by all adversaries needs national unity to defeat them.”
Praising the Pakistani army for its professional capabilities and unwavering commitment to meet the daunting challenges faced by the nation, he said the armed forces of Pakistan were capable of fighting these challenges.
Citing the fast-changing global and regional dynamics, he said, “The emergent dynamics in the South Asian region and security challenges to Pakistan have made it even more significant that the Pakistani nation and leadership across the political spectrum should remain vigilant and prepared to foil the conspiracies being hatched by the hostile forces.”
Wani appealed to the people to remain vigilant against the hostile forces who were trying to foment trouble by sowing the seeds of discord in the country.
Highlighting Pakistan’s crucial role in the Kashmiris’ struggle for the right to self-determination, he said that a strong and prosperous Pakistan would guarantee freedom for Kashmir.
While thanking the people and government of Pakistan for their support to Kashmiris struggle Wani said, “The people of Jammu and Kashmir will stand with the people of Pakistan.”

Additional Session Judge awards death sentence in double murder case

ABBOTTABAD, Sep 06 (APP):Additional Session Judge IV Abbottabad, Umer Farooq Wednesday while giving a verdict sentenced two individuals to death in a double murder case.
The accused had kidnapped two people from Khokar Maira in 2017 and subsequently killed them in Banda Sahib Khan, Havelian. Additionally, the judge imposed a fine of one million rupees on both convicts.
According to the details, in 2017, the two convicted, Amjad son of Saleh Sultan, and Khawar son of Muhammad Riaz, abducted Nadeem son of Sabir, and Bilal son of Javed Khokhar, who were residents of Khokar Maira. The victims were later murdered in Banda Sahib Khan, Havelian, and their bodies were buried under the debris of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
The Havelian police apprehended the accused with the help of modern technology and subsequently identified both victims. Their bodies were recovered from the CPEC debris after 50 days.
The trial for the double murder case began in 2018 in the court of Additional Session Judge Umer Farooq. After hearing arguments from both sides, the Judge pronounced the death penalty for both convicted individuals, Amjad and Khawar. Additionally, he imposed a fine of one million rupees on each of them.

Rs 176,500 fine imposed on shopkeepers over encroachment

SARGODHA, Sep 06 (APP): The Municipal Corporation Sargodha imposed a fine of Rs 176,500 on various shopkeepers over encroachments and issued 250 challans tickets of Rs 11,10,000 over multiple violations by enforcement team during the month of August 2023.
Talking to APP here on Wednesday, Chief Officer MC Muhammad Tariq Proya said that crackdown against encroachments had been launched while anti-encroachment team headed by Regulation Officer MC Zoya Masood were inspecting various markets of the city.
He said that a total of 20 warning notices were issued to various shopkeepers over encroachment in last month.
The anti-encroachment team removed temporary encroachment established at Satellite town, Sherazi town and mission road and also imposed fines on shopkeepers in Faisal Bazaar, Katchery Bazaar, streets of block no 2, General Bus Stand Road and Qenchi morr over encroachments during the last month, he added.

Rescue1122 starts motorcycle ambulance service in Peshawar

PESHAWAR, Sep 06 (APP):The emergency service Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Rescue-1122 on Wednesday started a motorcycle ambulance service from Peshawar with the support of World Health Organization.
Director General Rescue 1122 Dr Khateer Ahmed said the motorcycle service would ensure timely emergency services during traffic jams and road closures.
 It would act as a first responder as soon as an emergency call is received, he said adding that the motorcycle ambulance was equipped with BP set, glucometer, pulse oximeter, nebulizer, cervical collars, oxygen cylinders, tourniquets, first aid equipment and medicines.
Dr Khateer said that a Rescue 1122 emergency medical technician would drive the bike and provide medical aid to the sick or injured on the spot.
The DG said that the service would gradually be extended to other districts.

ISLAMABAD, Sep 6 (APP): Ambassador of Indonesia to Pakistan Adam Tugio has said that Indonesia is an exciting market for aspiring Pakistani entrepreneurs and new startups with innovative ideas, offering wonderful opportunities for mutual collaboration and business expansion.

During a meeting with young business entrepreneurs of the Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO) from textile, fintech, healthcare, food, dairy, furniture industry and energy sectors the Ambassador encouraged the members of EO to build trade connectivity with Indonesia which offers great market opportunities for innovative ideas and diversified products.

He noted that palm oil and coal dominate 75 percent of the whole bilateral trade while the trade volume of Pakistani exports is less than its true potential.

The ambassador emphasizing the importance of promoting economic diplomacy, said that young entrepreneurs as non-traditional business partners can contribute a lot in enhancing trade activities with creative ideas such as specific markets of circular fashion, recycling economy and environment-friendly products.

Elaborating the changing pattern of the consumer market and new trends, Ambassador Adam said that millennial population both in Indonesia and Pakistan is selective, health-conscious and techno-savvy and their needs must be addressed with modern concepts and quality standards.

Highlighting the scope of mutual collaboration in IT sector, he said that 50 percent of IT work goes to South Asia due to available expertise in this area.

Indonesia is a big market for the Shariah economy as well which can be supported and facilitated with Fintech products and apps from Pakistani entrepreneurs. Similarly, he said, the halal market especially halal cosmetics is another promising area of joint collaboration as both countries are members of D-8, which has a structured mechanism of PTA for intra-trade among D-8 countries.

The Ambassador also invited the members of EO to participate in the upcoming annual Trade Expo to be held in Indonesia in October 2023 and assured full facilitation from the Embassy.

The President of EO Lahore Chapter Aqib Chaudhry sincerely thanked the Indonesian ambassador for enlightening interaction with the entrepreneurs and expressed keen interest in further enhancing trade and business activities with Indonesia through the assistance and support of the Embassy in the future.

This enlightening tour was meticulously organized by the Qatar Tourism Authority and garnered widespread acclaim from the participants, who are part of the 2023 edition of the Huawei Seeds for the Future program.

The students thoroughly explored the museum, expressing their admiration for its versatile architecture and the vivid depiction of Qatar’s traditions.

The museum’s design artfully weaves together three distinct narratives: the first narrates the story of the peninsula and its inhabitants, the second delves into the coastal and desert lifestyles, along with the pearling industry, and the third chronicles the spectacular rise that propelled the kingdom to power and prosperity within just a few decades.
