PESHAWAR, Sep 06 (APP):Managing Director Bank of Khyber (BoK) Muhammad Ali Gul Faraz visited the Khyber Eye Foundation on Wednesday and appreciated the hospital’s remarkable work.
He was welcomed by the distinguished Life Patron of the hospital, Professor Dr. Muhammad Daud Khan, Chairman Muhammad Adnan Jalil, and other members of the Board of Directors and administrators.
He said that visiting the hospital had solidified his belief in the Khyber Eye Foundation as a prestigious institution.
Faraz commended the Khyber Eye Foundation for its philanthropic efforts, highlighting the fact that the hospital provides free medical care to the underprivileged and disadvantaged individuals in the region.
He thanked all the present board members and emphasized his dedication to supporting the hospital’s progress, assuring them of his continuous presence to address any issues that may arise.
The visit concluded with the presentation of a shield to MD Muhammad Ali Gul Faraz, as a token of appreciation for his visit.
Former Chairman Muhammad Ghayyur Sethi was also honored with a shield in recognition of his tireless efforts for the Khyber Eye Foundation.

Defence Day rally held to pay homage to martyrs of armed forces

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Sep 06 (APP): The district administration Lakki Marwat on Wednesday held a rally in connection with Defence Day to pay homage to the martyrs of the Pakistan’s armed forces who have sacrificed their lives for the defence of the motherland.

The rally was largely participated by officials of the district administration, representatives of political parties, religious leaders, social workers, students, teachers, traders and citizens.

The rally started from the Tehsil Govt Office Lakki City and after passing through various roads and bazaars of the city, culminated at Qargal Chowk.

The participants were holding national flags, banners and placards inscribed with slogans of patriotism and defence of Pakistan. They also chanted slogans of “Pakistan Zindabad” and “Allah-o-Akbar”.

The rally was led by the Assistant Commissioner HQs and AAC Revenue of Lakki Marwat district, Yasir Nazir and Ishaq Ali Khan.

The Additional Assistant Commissioners addressed the rally at various points and highlighted the importance of defence day and the sacrifices made by the Pakistani soldiers in 1965.

They said that Pakistan was a strong and sovereign country that could defend itself from any external threat. They praised the professionalism and bravery of the armed forces and assured them of their full support and cooperation. The people should remain united and vigilant against the enemies of Pakistan and to work for the progress and prosperity of the country.

They reiterated their commitment to safeguard the ideological and geographical boundaries of Pakistan. They also prayed for the peace and stability of Pakistan and its people.

The rally ended with a collective prayer for the martyrs and the Pakistan army.

Police arrest three gamblers; recover Rs 65,000 stake money

RAWALPINDI, Sep 06 (APP): Rawalpindi district Police arrested three gamblers and recovered Rs 65,000 stake money, three mobile phones, and valuables from their possession, said a police spokesman here on Wednesday.

He informed that Chontra police conducted a raid and arrested three gamblers namely Hamid, Muhammad Safdar and Sudheer Akhtar, who were allegedly involved in betting while playing cards.

A case has been registered against them while further investigation is under process.

Superintendent of Police, Saddar Muhammad Nabeel Khokhar said that gambling is the root cause of other evils and those involved in such crimes do not deserve any concession.

RDA removes encroachments, demolishes sheds in Gulraiz Housing Scheme

RAWALPINDI, Sep 06 (APP): Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) here on Wednesday launched an operation against encroachments and demolished sheds in the Gulraiz Housing Scheme.

According to RDA spokesman, the Enforcement Squad of RDA on the directives of the Director General, Muhammad Saif Anwar Jappa conducted raids and took action in accordance with the law against the rules violators.

He informed that the Squad while carrying out an operation against encroachments in the Gulraiz Housing Scheme, demolished sheds and illegal structures constructed in front of various shops.

He said the Squad including Incharge/Assistant Director Building Control, Assistant Director Land Development, Building Inspectors and others took part in the operation.

The DG had directed the Enforcement Squad to take strict action against encroachments without any discrimination, he said adding, the operation would continue and no one would be allowed to violate the rules.

6th Belt , Road Forum for TCM development held in Beijing

BEIJING, Sept. 6 (APP): – “At this cortical juncture where tradition and modernity intersect, it is essential to acknowledge that our partnership in TCM is not just about medical techniques; it is also about cultural exchange, people-to-people contacts, and mutual understanding,” noted Pakistan Ambassador to China Moin ul Haque while addressing the 6th Belt and Road Forum for Traditional Chinese Medicine Development held here on Wednesday.

As 2023 marks the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative, results of international cooperation in Traditional Chinese Medicine was released on the occasion, CEN reported.

“Over the past decade, we have promoted the inclusion of TCM in a number of bilateral agreements, intergovernmental cooperation mechanisms and summit outcomes. We have also established 30 overseas TCM centers in countries along the Belt and Road, set up 31 national TCM service export bases,” highlighted Yu Yanhong, head of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Participants acknowledged the development TCM achieved for the last ten years. They reached the consensus that the cooperation between China and the BRI countries in this field reflects the shared commitment to promoting holistic healthcare and the well-being of the people.

The world can learn and use TCM, and learn how China integrates TCM in health system as a break through , said Martin Taylor, WHO Representative to China. Take Pakistan as an example the two countries established a Pakistan-China Health Corridor last November. This corridor offers enormous opportunities for both countries to deepen cooperation in the health sector to leverage advancement. Earlier, in 2017, Pakistan and China signed an MoU to promote cooperation in the field of TCM.

Themed “Deepening Cooperation of Belt and Road Traditional Chinese Medicine Development and Jointly Creating a Global Community of Health for All”, the forum is jointly hosted by National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, and People’s Government of Beijing.

BEIJING, Sept. 6 (APP ): In a remarkable display of partnership and economic cooperation, the China-Pakistan Double Hundred Enterprises Cooperation project took center stage at the China-Pakistan Technology and Innovation Conference held at the China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS).

Plaques were distributed to commemorate the milestone achievements of this initiative. The event, held in Beijing, highlighted the commitment of both nations to enhance economic connectivity and foster development.

Khan Muhammad, Science Counselor at Pakistan’s Embassy in Beijing told China Economic Net that the Double Hundred Enterprises Cooperation project is a significant bilateral undertaking between China and Pakistan, aimed at promoting economic growth, trade, and investment. The project focuses on fostering collaboration between two hundred startup enterprises from each country across various IT sectors, including IoT, clouding technology, and others.

He further said that the China-Pakistan cooperation project was prominently featured, with a special ceremony dedicated to the distribution of plaques that recognized the outstanding contributions made by these enterprises. This gesture not only celebrated the achievements of the project but also underscored the strong and enduring friendship between the two nations.

“This massive infrastructure project under CPEC has significantly improved connectivity between the two nations and is expected to stimulate trade and investment along its route”, he added.

Khan said that 100 Pakistani startup IT enterprises would set up offices here and 100 Chinese enterprises would set up offices in Pakistan.

Hamza Saeed, Director of Special Technology Zones Authority (STZA), Pakistan, said that this project would help knowledge exchange and facilitate technology transfer to enable the development of Special Technology Zones across Pakistan. This collaboration will also help create an enabling environment where innovators, scientists, and entrepreneurs from both countries can work hand in hand and reap maximum dividends.

HYDERABAD, Sep 06 (APP):Pakistan Defence Day was observed at ISRA University here on Wednesday, where a rich tribute was paid to the heroes of the nation who lost their lives and saved Pakistan on September 06, 1965.
On this occasion, ISRA University organized a walk, which was led by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Nazir Ashraf Laghari, accompanied by Mr. Zaid Ahmed Laghari, Managing Director, Prof. Dr. Abdul Sattar Memon, CEO Academics, Mr. Abdul Qadir Memon, Deans, Professors, Doctors, Nurses, staff, and students of the university. The Vice Chancellor of the university led the walk from academic Block A.
Speaking on the occasion, the vice chancellor highlighted the stories from the past and told the audience how Pakistan defeated India; It was the day in 1965 when India launched its forces and attacked Pakistan across the international border without a warning or a declaration of war.
This was the day when we paid tribute to the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives to defend their homeland from the enemy. Moreover, the vice chancellor encouraged the students and told them that they were also the soldiers of this country who could save the nation with their skills and talent by serving the needy.
Prof. Dr.Laghari, other dignitaries, staff members, and students of the university made a ‘Dua’ for the safety of our motherland, Pakistan.

ISLAMABAD, Sep 6 (APP):Caretaker Minister for Defence, Lieutenant General (R) Anwar Ali Hyder, on the eve of Defence and Martyrs’ Day Wednesday, said: “We hold our Shuhudas and Ghazis in high esteem and are profoundly indebted to them for offering the ultimate sacrifice and thwarting the nefarious designs of the enemy.”
In his message on the occasion of National Defence and Martyrs’ Day, the Defence Minister termed September 6 as a milestone in the annals of national history.
Hyder said it reminded the entire nation of the indomitable courage and unparalleled sacrifices rendered by our Armed Forces for the defence of our motherland.
“Pakistan is a responsible state with an impregnable defence. Over the years, Pakistan’s defence capability has evolved substantially and Alhamdolillah, the country has made significant strides toward self-reliance in the field of defence. The entire nation and government of Pakistan commend the sacrifices, professionalism, and grit of our Armed Forces,” he added.
The minister further said Pakistan would continue to promote peace in the world. “Pakistan will, Insha Allah, soon rise above all challenges, as always, our Armed Forces, with their valour and bravery, will continue to defend every inch of our sacred land,” he added.
