Jamaat ul Ahrar accepts responsibility for killing of Balkh governor
ISLAMABAD, Mar 9 (APP): Jamaat ul Ahrar, a militant outfit Thursday accepted responsibility for the suicide bomb blast that killed Governor of Balkh province in Afghanistan Mulla Mohammad Dawood Muzammil , said a spokesman of Tehreek e Taliban Pakistan.
Seven people including the governor were killed and nine others were injured in the bomb blast.
Mulla Dawood was the leading figure of Taliban.
The Jamaat ul Ahrar had differences with the governor over the rule in the Balkh province.
The Jamaat also has its differences with Daesh which had created further insecurity in Afghanistan. Pakistan condemned this latest act of terrorism.
Speakers call for reconciliation in Balochistan
GWADAR, Mar 9 (APP): Participants at a seminar held at the University of Gwadar here on Thursday stressed on the need for reconciliation process to address the issues faced by the people of Balochistan.

Speaking at the seminar titled Reconciliation in Balochistan, they asked the militants and exiled leaders to come to the negotiating table and resolve issues through talks.
The Speakers included Hussain Ashraf of the National Party, Vice Chancellor of University of Gwadar Abdul Razaq Sabir and Additional Deputy Commissioner Zakir Baloch.
CM directs to functional ‘Meri Awaz’ App
LAHORE, Mar 09 (APP): Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi has directed to functionalize safety application ‘Meri Awaz’ to provide the women speedy assistance by merely clicking the button.
The police will response quickly on the helpline in case of any harassment, torture and other situation.
The safety App ‘Meri Awaz’ will be used to provide expeditious assistance to the women across Punjab.
Caretaker CM Mohsin Naqvi was given a briefing by the Inspector General of Police Dr. Usman Anwar and Chairman PITB Faisal Yousaf.
The App developed by the Punjab Information Technology Board will be most user friendly. By clicking the button through the App, the nearest police will reach the spot in few minutes.
The data of women being subjected to an emergency situation will reach the relevant police station by an automated system through the complaint registration form. Essential steps have been taken in order to make the App fully functional.
Caretaker CM Mohsin Naqvi directed IG Complaint to make the helpline 1787 more proactive for the protection of women.
