of Cinematic Artists: A Cinematic Posters Exhibition,” curated by the esteemed Murad Khan as this captivating exhibition embarks on a ten-day journey, traversing the evolution of cinema posters over the past century.
The cinema posters, an indispensable element of visual storytelling, have historically played a pivotal role in enticing audiences into the enthralling realm of films.
However, with the advent of the digital era and its transformative impact on promotional strategies, this art form faces the imminent threat of fading into obscurity. In response to this challenge, the exhibition seeks to revive and honor this waning art, paying homage to the artists who have profoundly shaped the cinematic landscape.
Murad Khan, the exhibition’s curator, eloquently expressed the significance of this showcase, stating, “This exhibition serves as a tribute to the invaluable contributions of both senior and contemporary artists who have meticulously crafted the visual narratives of cinema through their masterpieces. It’s a grand celebration of their creativity, innovation, and unwavering dedication to the craft.”
The exhibition meticulously curates a collection of cinema posters, showcasing the diverse styles, techniques, and narratives employed by these visionary artists. ECP approves transfer/postings of Sindh’s 17 officers, concurrence for 2 officers regretted

KARACHI, Dec 04 (APP):The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has accorded approval for the transfer and posting of 17 high-level officers while the proposal for the posting of two officers was regretted.
According to a letter written to the Services, General Administration & Coordination department, the ECP approved the posting of Ahmed Bux Narejo, an officer of PAS (BS-20) for the post of Secretary of Women Development Department against an existing vacancy.
As per the ECP approval, Tahir Sangi officer of PAS (BS-20) was posted as Secretary Mines, Mineral Development Department, Ahmed Sultan Khoso, Ex.PCS (BS-20) as Secretary Minorities Affairs Department against an existing vacancy.
Abu Baqar Ahmed, an officer of PSS (BS-20) is posted as Secretary Information, Science and Technology, Zubair Parvez Ahmed, PSS officer (BS-20) as MD SPPRA vice Rubina Asif transferred. Khalid Chachar has been posted as Secretary Culture, Tourism, Antiquities and Archives Department Vice Abdul Aleem Lashari transferred and directed to report to SGA&CD.
Ms Anjum Iqbal Jumanji, PSS officer (BS-20) was posted as DG Sindh Coastal Development Authority, Rubina Asif was posted as DG (Monitoring and Evaluation) Health Department, Muhammad Sharif Shaikh as DG Gorakh Hills Development Authority, Ghanhwer Ali Leghari as Secretary Human Settlement and Spatial Development & Social Housing Department and Athar Hussain Mirani posted as DG LDA.
Fayaz Hussain Abbasi, Secretary Energy department was transferred and posted as Commissioner Sukkur division vice Samiuddin Siddiqui was transferred and posted as Secretary of Cooperatives.
Akhtar Hussain Bugti was posted as DG Secretariat of the provincial Ombudsman Sindh while Jamaluddin Mahar, MD Thar Coal and Energy Board was transferred and posted as Special Secretary (Prisons).
ECP also regretted the concurrence of BS-21 officer Dr Waseem Shamshad Ali’s posting as Secretary of Public Health Engineering and BS-19 officer Ms Shahida Jaffer as DG of Sindh Food Authority.

Efforts underway to send 1.7 million illegal migrants to their home: Achakzai

QUETTA, Dec 04 (APP): Balochistan Caretaker Information Minister Jan Achakzai on Monday said that measures were being taken to send 1.7 million illegal immigrants to repatriate to save Pakistan from problems, so far 0.4 million had been sent back to their countries.

Addressing a press conference at Quetta Press Club, he said that Afghanistan goverment should take steps to get its country recognized at the world level and urged to take steps to ensure that its soil was not used for anti-Pakistan activities.

He also asked the Afghan government to hand over Hafiz Gul Bahadur to Pakistan which would help eliminate terrorists from both countries.

He also congratulated the government, Pakistan Army Chief Gen Asim Munir and law enforcement agencies for repatriating 400,000 migrants saying that no such action had been taken in 40 years.

In response to a question, he said that 99 percent of the immigrants are Afghan refugees adding that 4000 to 5000 belong to different countries including Iran, Iraq, India, Nigeria, Africa and other countries.

Ample measures are being taken to evacuate the refugees of all nationals to their countries without discrimination, he said.

Achakzai said that action would also be taken against the holders of two and a half lakh cards in Balochistan.

567 Sub-Inspectors ascend in Sindh Police ranks

KARACHI, Dec 04 (APP):As part of IGP Sindh Riffat Mukhtar Raja’s directive for departmental advancements, 567 sub-inspectors have received promotions.
Out of 999 pending cases for elevation from sub-inspector to the inspector, these promotions mark a significant step forward.
In compliance with the instructions, 12 officers from various agencies, including the National Highway and Motorway Police,  Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), and Anti-corruption units, have been recommended for Inspector positions upon their return to Sindh Police within 90 days.
Additionally, 215 officers have been promoted, pending the submission of necessary documentation and successful completion of departmental courses, as outlined in the official notification.
IGP Sindh Riffat Mukhtar Raja has arranged for rank ceremonies scheduled to take place on December 6th across police divisions.
During these ceremonies, the newly promoted inspectors, accompanied by their families, will be acknowledged and celebrated.

HESCO unearth 348 more connections involved in power theft

HYDERABAD, Dec 04 (APP):During the ongoing anti-power theft drive under the supervision of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (HESCO) Engineer Bashir Ahmed, 348 more connections across the region were caught, which were found involved in electricity theft.
The HESCO authorities have submitted 328 letters to book power thieves in respective police stations, out of which 31 cases were registered.
According to HESCO spokesperson, 10 commercial and 338 domestic connections were included in the connections which were disconnected and detection bills of 1,61,557 units amounting to 3.998 million rupees were issued to the consumers involved in electricity theft.
During the 87-day ongoing operation, a total recovery of more than 9,009.2 million rupees has been made. Additionally, 11,247 individuals have been identified as involved in electricity theft, with 119 arrests made so far, while 1,326 FIRs have also been registered.

Minister takes action of over pricing of ‘Parchi’ fee in cattle market

LAHORE, Dec 04 (APP):Caretaker Punjab Information Minister Amir Mir on Monday took action of over pricing of ‘Parchi’ fee in the cattle market Shahpur Kanjra.
According to official sources here the caretaker minister paid a surprise visit to the cattle market and directed the authorities to take stern action against those involved in over charging.
He said that ‘Parchi’ fee for small and big animals were Rs 100 and Rs 500.
He further said that the Caretaker Punjab Chief Minister had received a complaint of extortion in the cattle market.
A warning had also been issued to the company which had taken contract of the cattle market, he said and added that if any over charging would be practiced the contract would be cancelled.
He further directed to improve cleanliness arrangements in the market.

Development, welfare, prosperity of AJK foremost priority: AJK PM

MIRPUR  (AJK): Dec 04 (APP) ::Azad Jammu and Kashmir Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq has said that the development, welfare, and prosperity of the people of Azad Jammu Kashmir was his first and foremost priority.
He expressed these remarks while speaking to a delegation that called on him in the federal metropolis, according to a press release.
The delegation from the Budhing area was comprised of members of the District Council including Raja Faheem Akhtar, Raja Zulfikar Ali, Raja Munaf Khan, Raja Naseer Khaliq, Haji Mohammad Aslam, Raja Tahir Waheed. On this occasion, the Prime Minister said that the government was taking all possible measures to ensure the provision of health facilities, education, and all other basic facilities to the people.
He said that funds have been allocated for the construction of roads in Azad Kashmir. He said that the government was planning to set up an endowment fund for orphans, divorced women, widows, and disabled persons under which twenty thousand rupees would be transferred to their accounts through easy Paisa.
The Prime Minister assured the delegation that the government was paying full attention to projects of public interest to provide better facilities to the masses. The delegation congratulated the Prime Minister for adopting pro-public and public-friendly policies, improving governance in the region. The delegation also thanked the Prime Minister for the approval of the water supply scheme for the Budhing area.
