CM orders to ensure sale of 100gm Roti at Rs 15

MULTAN, May 03 (APP):In compliance with instructions from Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, district administration has started Geo-Tagging hotels and Tandoors in Multan to ensure no one could fleece the people and they get 100 gram Roti at Rs 15 per piece.
According to an official release and information posted on official facebook page, the district administration would ensure sale of 100 gram Roti at a price of Rs 15 per piece at Geo Tagged hotels and Tandoors through a modern online application.
Deputy commissioner Captain (Retired) Rizwan Qadeer has ordered price control magistrates to keep checking shops, hotels and Tandoors on a daily basis and ensure availability of food items to the people at fixed price.

Deputy Chairman Senate, Irfan Siddiqui discuss legislative issues

ISLAMABAD, May 03 (APP):Deputy Chairman Senate Sardar Syedaal Khan and parliamentary leader of the Pakistan Muslim League (N) in the Senate, Senator Irfan Siddiqui, held discussions on Friday regarding legislative issues currently under consideration in the Senate.
During a meeting Irfan Siddiqui congratulated Syedaal Khan on his recent election as Deputy Chairman of the Senate, expressing his best wishes for a successful tenure.
He also shared his optimism that Syedaal Khan will guide the Senate proceedings with efficiency and fairness, ensuring that all political parties are given a voice in the decision-making process, said a news release issued here.
During the meeting, both leaders engaged in a detailed conversation about the political situation in the country.
Deputy Chairman Senate Syedaal Khan expressed his gratitude to Senator Siddiqui for his kind words and his role as a leader within the Senate. He hoped that presence of Senator Siddiqui, as a parliamentary leader of the Muslim League (N), would serve as a source of strength for everyone.
Syedaal Khan said that PML-N is the largest political party in the country and that its leadership plays a critical role in promoting harmony and cooperation within the House.
He further stated that he intends to work as a symbol of the federation, highlighting his commitment to serving all regions of Pakistan, including his home province of Balochistan.
Irfan Siddiqui expressed the hope that all parties would work together to elevate the dignity of the Upper House.

LHC CJ visits Rawalpindi Bench

RAWALPINDI, May 03 (APP): Lahore High Court (LHC) Chief Justice Malik Shahzad Ahmed Khan of Friday visited the Rawalpindi Bench, where he was briefed on professional matters.

Upon his arrival at the Bench, the chief justice was warmly received by Justice Shujaat Ali Khan, Justice Sadaqat Ali Khan, Justice Mirza Waqas Rauf and Justice Chaudhry Abdul Aziz.

During the briefing, various administrative issues were also discussed. The chief justice also took round of various sections of the bench, and appreciated the staff for their professionalism.

The chief justice, in his remarks, observed that the Rawalpindi Bench was playing an important role in dispensation of justice.

Rupee gains 10 pasia against US dollar

ISLAMABAD, May 3 (APP):Pakistani Rupee on Friday gained 10 paisa against the US dollar in the interbank trading and closed at Rs 278.20 against the previous day’s closing of Rs 278.30.
According to the Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP), the buying and selling rates of the dollar in the open market, however, stood at Rs 277.35 and Rs 280.1 respectively.
The price of the Euro increased by 74 paisa and closed at Rs 298.85 against the last-day closing of Rs 298.11, according to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).
The Japanese Yen went up by 3 paisa and closed at Rs 1.81, whereas an increase of  82 paisa was witnessed in the exchange rate of the British Pound, which was traded at Rs 349.33 compared to the last closing of Rs 348.51.
The Emirates Dirham and the Saudi Riyal came down by 3 paisa each and closed at at Rs 75.74 and Rs 74.17 respectively.

IRSA releases 126,800 cusecs water

ISLAMABAD, May 3 (APP):Indus River System Authority (IRSA) on Friday released 126,800 cusecs water from various rim stations with inflow of 212,200 cusecs.
According to the data released by IRSA, water level in River Indus at Tarbela Dam was 1462.98 feet and was 48.98 feet higher than its dead level of 1,398 feet. Water inflow and outflow in the dam was recorded as 36,300 cusecs and 5,000 cusecs respectively.
The water level in River Jhelum at Mangla Dam was 1162.50 feet, which was 111.50 feet higher than its dead level of 1,050 feet. The inflow and outflow of water was recorded 79,100 cusecs and 25,000 cusecs respectively.
The release of water at Kalabagh, Taunsa , Guddu and Sukkur was recorded as 56,400, 65,600, 47,900 and 13,600 cusecs respectively.
Similarly, from River Kabul, a total of 70,000 cusecs of water released at Nowshera and 17,600 cusecs released from River Chenab at Marala.
