2nd anti-polio campaign from Feb 26

NAROWAL, Feb 14 (APP):The second anti-polio campaign of the current year will start from February 26, and continue till March 1.
According to the district information officer, training had been started in connection with the anti-polio campaign under the leadership of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Health Narowal Dr. Muhammad Naveed Haider.
District Officer Health Dr. Muhammad Tariq, Deputy district officers of three tehsils — Dr. Khalid Mahmood, Dr. Qaiser Waseem, Dr. Muhammad Asif, DSV Mujahid Ali and all the in-charges of RHC and BHUs participated in the training.
The CEO health instructed all in-charges to perform their duties wholeheartedly for success of the anti-polio campaign, starting from February 26, because the future of the new generation was related to their health.
He said that the development and prosperity of the country was related to the health of the children. It should be noted that since 2003 Narowal is a polio-free district.

SSP Investigation hold Khuli Katchery to address complaints

RAWALPINDI, Feb 14 (APP):Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Investigation Rawalpindi, Zunaira Azfar here on Wednesday held a ‘Khuli Katchery’ in Police Lines Headquarters to address public complaints.
According to a Police spokesman, the SSP issued directives to the officers concerned to take action and submit detailed reports on the complaints submitted by the citizens in ‘Khuli Katchery’.
She said that negligence on part of the officials concerned would not be tolerated. ‘Khuli Katcheries’ were being held to provide the citizens immediate relief and address their complaints besides it also helped improve standards of policing, she said and issued orders to the officers to complete inquiries and send reports within the given time frame.
All-out efforts should be made to ensure the dispensation of speedy justice purely on merit to the people and improve service delivery standards in the district, she added.
The spokesman informed that the Senior Police Officers under the Punjab government’s open door policy were holding ‘Khuli Katcheries’ here to provide relief to the citizens.

PSX continues with bullish trend, gains 926 more points

ISLAMABAD, Feb 14 (APP):The 100-index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) continued with bullish trend on Wednesday, gaining 926.92 points, a positive change of 1.51 percent, closing at 62,153.84 points against 61,226.93 points the previous trading day.

A total of 303,886,073 shares valuing Rs.14.687 billion were traded during the day as compared to 435,549,576 shares valuing Rs.15.972 billion the last day.

Some 342 companies transacted their shares in the stock market; 267 of them recorded gains and 56 sustained losses, whereas the share prices of 19 remained unchanged.

The three top-trading companies were K-Electric Limited with 33,417,936 shares at Rs 4.47 per share, Oil and Gas Development with 32,231,367 shares at Rs 122.01 per share and Pak Petroleum with 15,505,464 shares at Rs 107.37 per share.

PSX continues with bullish trend, gains 926 more points

Philip Morris (Pakistan) Limited witnessed a maximum increase of Rs 38.50 per share price, closing at Rs.728.50, whereas the runner-up was Indus Motor Company Limited with a Rs 38.17 rise in its per share price to Rs 1,518.26.

Ismail Industries Limited witnessed a maximum decrease of Rs 93.70 per share closing at Rs1,155.63, followed by Rafhan Maize Company Limited with Rs 26.76 decline to close at Rs.8,276.25.

Nasir Shah condolences over death of Junejo

SUKKUR, Feb 14 (APP):Former Sindh Local Government Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah expressed sorrow and grief over the sad demise of elected MPA Abdul Aziz Junejo.
In a statement, he said late Junejo was a committed party leader and his death was a great loss for the Pakistan People’s Party.
Syed Nasir Hussain Shah expressed condolence and sympathies with the be­reaved family and prayed for the departed soul to be in eternal peace.

Search operation conducted in Dhamyal, 80 suspects questioned

RAWALPINDI, Feb 14 (APP): The Rawalpindi police on special directives of City Police Officer (CPO) Khalid Mehmood Hamdani conducted a search operation in the jurisdiction of Dhamyal police station here on Wednesday.

According to police spokesman, the search operation was carried out by the heavy police contingent, Elite Force, Special Branch personnel and ladies police along with officials of Dhamyal police.

During the operation, a total of 35 houses were searched and 22 shops while some 80 suspects were questioned, he said.

The spokesman further said the search operations to net criminals and proclaimed offenders were regularly being conducted under National Action Plan in different areas of the district to maintain law and order.

‘Clinic-on-wheels’ project continuing: CEO

FAISALABAD, Feb 14 (APP):Clinic-on-wheels project is continuing across the district successfully, said CEO Health Asfand Yar.
During his visit to clinic-on-wheels camp in Union Council No.203 Dastgir Colony here on Wednesday, he said that the health department had launched this program to provide quality health service to the ailing humanity belonging and residing in far-flung rural areas.
In this connection, a team of expert doctors arrange their camp under the clinic-on-wheels project in rural side localities and provide best treatment facilities to the patients, he added.
He also checked duty roster of doctors and other staff at the project camp, and said that special counters would be arranged at the ‘Clinic-on-wheels’ camp to facilitate the aged people and female patients. He also took briefing and said that the program would be expanded in greater public interest.

SCCI organises training seminar on SMEs

SIALKOT, Feb 14 (APP):A training seminar was organised at Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) to provide guidance and training to Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).
SMEs Committee of Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chairman Faizan Akbar presided over the seminar. He informed the participants about lead generation and email marketing. He said that in this era of inflation, it had become very expensive for new and small exporters to travel globally for business. Therefore, they have to pay close attention to their email marketing, he said and added that the seminar was arranged for new entrepreneurs with the aim of providing them with guidance in the business field so that they move forward and expand their business not only for themselves but also for their homeland including Sialkot and play their role in development of the country by earning foreign exchange.
He said it was his 152nd seminar and the SCCI had always supported him in his work and that was the reason why I am doing my work in a better way.
He also gave a presentation which was highly appreciated by the participants in the seminar. A large number of young entrepreneurs participated in the event.

SZABIST University Larkana Capmus Awards 149 Degrees in Its 18th Convocation

LARKANA, Feb 14 (APP): Larkana Feb, 14(APP) The 18th Annual Convocation of the SZABIST University Larkana Campus was held on Wednesday Feb 2024 at the Sachal Banquet Larkana. The Vice Chancellor Sindh Agricultural University Prof. Dr. Fateh Muhammad Marri graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
VP academics Prof. Dr. Muhammad Altaf Mukati – opened the Convocation and conferred degrees to total (149) students, out of which (99) were undergraduate students and (50) were of Master’s degree programs from the disciplines of Management Sciences, Computer Science and Education.
In the convocation speeches, VP academics- Prof.  Dr. Muhammad Altaf Mukati argued that in Pakistan, only 2-3% people has access to the higher education, and SZABIST is playing its part in boosting literacy rate of the country. Further he urged students to take their part in economic development of the country.
Chief Guest, Prof. Dr. Fateh Muhammad Marri addressed the graduating  students and urged them to serve this country as we are lacking behind in the field of business and information technology. He urged students to uplift the interior areas of the country like Larkana.
On this occasion, Five (05) Gold Medals and Five(05) Silver Gold Medals were awarded to the students.
Thirty-seven (37) students’ names have also been placed on the “Chancellor’s Honor List” for securing a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) equal to or higher than 3.50.

Excise Police crackdown on drug traffickers continue

PESHAWAR, Feb 14 (APP):The crackdown on drug traffickers continues rapidly in provincial capital, a spokesman of the Excise Police said here Wednesday.
The official said that Provincial In-charge of Excise Intelligence Bureau on an information of an attempt to smuggle a large amount of drugs in a rickshaw took quick action and recovered 14400 grams (14 kg) hashish during search from rickshaw number GB 2650 on Motorway Service Road here.
The accused driver was arrested on the spot, and a case was registered in Excise Police Station Peshawar Region for further investigation, the spokesperson said.
