PSL-9: Karachi Kings captain keeps high hopes with new players

MULTAN, Feb 17 (APP):Karachi Kings captain Shan Masood, said on Saturday that his team eyeing on future and would try to play well in the first match of Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 9 against Multan Sultans tomorrow Feb 18 at Multan cricket stadium.
While holding a press conference at Multan cricket stadium, Shan Masood said that Karachi Kings was starting a new beginning with new players and management. He said that they would try to play well and make their identity.
Karachi Kings captain further said that Rizwan was a great player and you get a chance to learn a lot while playing with him or against him.
He said that Karachi Kings couldn’t perform better in the last two years and hoping to play well this time as our young talent is very great.
He claimed that the PSL title would be Karachi Kings in future as the team consists of young players.

DG RDA assigned additional charge of Commissioner Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI, Feb 17 (APP):Director General (DG), of Rawalpindi Development Authority, (RDA), Muhammad Saif Anwar Jappa, has been assigned the additional charge of the post of Commissioner, Rawalpindi Division.
According to a notification issued by Chief Secretary Punjab, Zahid Akhtar Zaman, DG RDA has been given the additional charge of the post of Commissioner Rawalpindi Division in addition to his own duties.
Liaquat Ali Chatta, Commissioner Rawalpindi Division has been transferred with immediate effect and directed to report to the Services and General Administration Department, Government of the Punjab.

Full security provided to local, foreign cricketers, officials: IGP Punjab

LAHORE, Feb 17 (APP):Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said on Saturday that the Punjab Police had ensured strict security and made traffic arrangements for the match played at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore.
He said full security had been provided to local and foreign players, officials, and cricket fans. He said the police were in contact with all institutions including the Pakistan Cricket Board, district administration, and security agencies. He said Punjab Police would ensure that all matches were held in a peaceful and safe environment.
Dr. Usman Anwar said that more than 20,000 officers and officials would perform security duties on matches in Punjab, and foolproof measures would be ensured during the matches. The IGP said that search, sweep, combing and intelligence-based operations were going on around the player’s residence, routes and stadium. With the help of cameras of Safe Cities Authority, monitoring of stadiums, hotels and the route of teams is being ensured.
The IGP said that Dolphin Squad, Police Response Unit, Elite Force teams were ensuring effective patrolling during the matches.

Two-day Sukkur trade exhibition & export awareness seminar inaugurates

SUKKUR, Feb 17 (APP):Commissioner Fayyaz Hussain Abbasi inaugurated a two-day Sukkhur trade exhibition and export awareness seminar.
The exhibition was organised by the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) at Sukkur IBA Public School to foster economic growth and promote export opportunities in the region.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Muhammad Dital Kalhori, Abdul Fateh Shaikh, former president of the Sukkur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) and Shabnam Zafar, President of Khairpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry and business community, underscoring the significance of collaboration and partnership in driving economic prosperity.
TDAP organized a Seminar on the National Exporters Training Program and E-Commerce 101, which witnessed a remarkable turnout of over 100 participants. Led by experts Afshan Uroos, Deputy Manager  TDAP  Aadil Mukhtar, Assistant Director TDAP, the sessions provided invaluable insights into a wide array of subjects, including Export Procedures and Documentation, marketing, financing, E-Commerce, and Pakistan Trade Portal utilization.
Representatives from different institutions such as the State Bank of Pakistan and SGS also contributed exclusive information on compliances and financing, enriching the learning experience for attendees.
The session culminated in an interactive Q&A session, followed by a vote of thanks to Mohsin Bullo, Deputy Manager TDAP, expressing gratitude to all participants for their active engagement.
Earlier, Deputy Director of TDAP Sukkur, Fida Hussain delivered the welcome remarks, setting the tone for an insightful and engaging event.

UNHCR advisory committee urged to prioritize HR situation in IIOJK

MIRPUR, Feb 17 (APP):US-based Acting Chief of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF-Yaseen Malik) and renowned representative of the Kashmiri Diaspora community, Raja Muzaffar, has called upon the United Nations High Commission for Human Rights (UNHCHR) Advisory Committee to prioritize the fast-deteriorating human rights situation in the illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir state.
In an appeal lodged on Saturday, the appellant acting Chairman of the JKLF, Yasin Malik, Raja Muzaffar, said that the appeal recognizes the significant work undertaken by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in shedding light on the challenges faced by the local population, according to a message reaching and released to the media here on Saturday.
Highlighting the groundbreaking report released by the Office of the UN High Commission for Human Rights (UN OHCHR) on June 14, 2018, which focused on human rights in Kashmir, Muzaffar emphasized the need for urgent attention and action. As Kashmiri residents, they eagerly await the results of the ongoing investigation initiated by OHCHR.
The appeal respectfully urges the UNHCR Advisory Committee to prioritize a visit to both parts of Kashmir, allowing them to gather firsthand information, engage with local stakeholders, and witness the challenges faced by the affected population. Furthermore, the UNHCR Advisory Committee is requested to acknowledge the OHCHR’s findings, support their mandate, collaborate with them, and include their recommendations in discussions.
By acknowledging the OHCHR’s reports and supporting their work, the UNHCR can play a crucial role in advocating for the rights of the Kashmiri people. The appeal emphasizes the importance of the upcoming UNHCR Advisory Committee meeting in addressing the challenges faced by the affected population and calls for effective measures to be taken.
Raja Muzaffar concludes the appeal by expressing gratitude for the attention given to this matter and emphasizing the vital role of the UNHCR Advisory Committee in ensuring the protection and well-being of the Kashmiri people.
