JUI candidate Mir Yunus wins PB-19 election

ISLAMABAD, Feb 10 (APP): JUI candidate Mir Younus Aziz Zehri won the Balochistan Assembly election from PB-19, Khuzdar-II by securing 19,137 votes.

According to the unofficial result issued by the Returning Officer/ECP, his runner-up was PPPP candidate Shakeel Ahmed Durrani who bagged 15,206 votes.

Overall voters’ turnout remained 44.23 percent.

Old faces win most of Bahawalpur seats

BAHAWALPUR, Feb 09 (APP): The old faces have won most of the National Assembly and Punjab Assembly seats in Bahawalpur Division.

Former federal minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Q General Secretary Chaudhary Tariq Basheer Cheema, who had won elections from NA-165 Bahawalpur many times, has once again returned won from the constituency by securing 116,554 votes.

His political rival Chaudhary Saud Majeed, who fought the election as an independent candidate, secured 105,313 votes, while another independent candidate Basharat Ali managed 50,339 votes.

There were 15 candidates in the filed, five of them contested on the tickets of their political parties.

Chaudhary Saud Majeed is also an old political leader, who had contested several elections from this constituency.

Prince Bahawal Abbas Abbasi, a scion of the royal Abbasi family of former princely state of Bahawalpur, was defeated by old politician Makhdoom Syed Sami Ul Hassan Gilani in NA-166.

Gilani, who contested the election on the ticket of Pakistan Muslim League-N, secured 62,148 votes, while Prince Abbasi manged to get 48,599 votes and Makhdoom Syed Ali Hassan Gilani of the Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians, got 48,375 votes.

In NA-167 Bahwalpur, PML-N’s Muhammad Usman Awaisi won the election by securing 88,503 votes. His father Najeeb Awaisi had also been elected from the constituency for several times.

His rival candidate Malik Aamir Yar Waran, who is also an ex-parliamentarian, managed to secure 63,670 votes.

Likewise, several other old politicians, some of them also remained members of Punjab Assembly in previous regimes from Bahawalpur, again tried their luck.

Khalid Mahmood Jajja, who contested the election as a PML-N candidate, again won from PP-247 by securing 61,116 votes.

Similarly, Sahibzada Gazzen Abbasi, who had contested several elections, was elected from PP-249 by getting 42,484 votes.

Another old politician, Muhammad Shoaib Awaisi, got victory from PP-252 by securing 41,290 votes. He contested the election on the PML-N ticket.

Ex-parliamentarian Zaheer Iqbal Channar, who is the son of former minister Malik Iqbal Channar, was once again elected from PP-253 on the PML-N ticket by securing 45,607 votes.

Malik Ghulam Habib Awan wins PP-154 election

ISLAMABAD, Feb 10 (APP): Pakistan Muslim League (N) Malik Ghulam Habib Awan has won the Punjab Assembly elections from PP-154 Lahore-X by securing 26,014 votes.

According to the unofficial results, issued by the returning officer/ECP, his runner-up was Independent candidate Shakeel Ahmed who begged 24,156 votes.

Overall voters’ turnout remained 48.23 percent.

Shehryar Afridi bags majority at 466 out of 491 PS in NA-35

ISLAMABAD, Feb 9 (APP): Independent candidate, Shehryar Afridi from NA-35, secured a majority with 128,491 votes across 466 out of 491 polling stations.

Fresh polls have been recommended for 25 polling stations where voting was interrupted due to a law and order situation.

According to unofficial results released by the Returning Officer/ECP, the runner-up was Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) candidate Abbas Afridi, who garnered 57,184 votes.

The overall voter turnout stood at 37.19 percent.

PML-N’s Mian Shoaib Awaisi wins PP-252 election

ISLAMABAD, Feb 10 (APP): Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N), Mian Muhammad Shoaib Awaisi has won the Punjab Assembly election from PP-252 Bahawalpur-VIII by securing 41,290 votes.

According to the unofficial result issued by the Returning Officer/ECP, his runner-up was Shafqat Shaheen, an independent candidate who bagged 26,543 votes.

Overall voters’ turn-out remained 52.62 percent.

Independent candidate Mohammad Idrees wins NA-12

ISLAMABAD, Feb 9 (APP): Independent candidate Mohammad Idrees has won the election for National Assembly constituency NA-12 Upper Kohistan-cum-Lower Kohistan-cum-Kolai Palas Kohistan by securing 26,583 votes.

According to the unofficial result issued by the Returning Officer/ECP, his runner-up was Salahuddin of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam candidate Salahuddin, who bagged 22,043 votes.

Voters’ turn-out remained at 50.89 per cent.

NP candidate Kher Jan wins PB-23

ISLAMABAD, Feb 9 (APP): National Party candidate Kher Jan won the Balochistan Assembly election from PB-23 constituency Avaran by securing 15,635 votes.

According to the unofficial result issued by the Returning Officer/ECP, his runner-up was Abdul Qudous of PPPP who bagged 9,233 votes.

Voters’ turn-out remained at 31.80 per cent.

PML-N’s Khalid Mehmood Jajja wins PP-247

ISLAMABAD, Feb 09 (APP): Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N), Khalid Mehmood Jajja has won the Punjab Assembly election from PP-247, Bahawalpur-III by securing 61,116 votes.

According to the unofficial result issued by the Returning Officer/ECP, his runner-up was Wali Dad Cheema of Pakistan Muslim League (PML-Q) who bagged 50,809 votes.

Voters’ turn-out remained at 63.97 per cent.

Independent Candidate Usman Abbasi wins PP-251 election

ISLAMABAD, Feb 10 (APP): Independent Candidate, Sahibzada Muhammad Usman Khan Abbasi has won the Punjab Assembly election from PP-251, Bahawalpur-VII by securing 29,419 votes.

According to the unofficial result issued by the Returning Officer/ECP, his runner-up was Syed Naseem Abbas Bokhari of Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians (PPPP) who bagged 19,799 votes.

Overall voters’ turn-out remained 51.75 percent.

PPPP’s Amir Shah wins PP-250 election

ISLAMABAD, Feb 10 (APP): Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarian (PPPP), Syed Amir Ali Shah has won the Punjab Assembly election from PP-250, Bahawalpur-VI by securing 26,260 votes.

According to the unofficial result issued by the Returning Officer/ECP, his runner-up was Syed Iftikhar Hussain of
Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) who bagged 24,253 votes.

Overall voters’ turnout remained 52.56 percent.
