Shipping Activity at Port Qasim
KARACHI, Mar 12 (APP): Five ships namely, MSC Aria-III, MSC Beira-IV, Fame, Kiso and Menomonee, carrying Containers, Soya been seed, Chemicals and Coal, berthed at Container Terminal, Grain Terminal, Engro Terminal and Bulk Terminal respectively during last 24 hours.
Meanwhile two more ships, FSM and Dravin with LPGs also arrived at outer-anchorage of the Port Qasim on Monday.
Nine ships were engaged at PQA berths during the last 24 hours, out of them two ships, MSC Beira-IV and Crested Eagle left the Port on Tuesday morning, while two more ships, Yongheng Ocean and Kiso are expected to sail on same day.
Cargo volume of 128,424 tonnes, comprising 95,803 tonnes imports cargo and 32,621 tonnes export cargo carried in 1,927 Containers (425 TEUs Imports and 1,502 TEUs export) was handled at the port during last 24 hours.
There are 7 ships at Outer Anchorage of Port Qasim, out of them two ships, Melody and Dravin & another edible oil carrier ‘Rhine’ scheduled to load/offload Rice, LPG and Palm oil are expected to take berths at MW-1, EVTL and LCT are respectively on Tuesday & two more ships, Maersk Cape Town and San Francisco Bridge are due arrive at Port Qasim on Wednesday.

The inauguration of the Islamabad Protectorate Office, closely following the recent opening of two protectorate offices in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), in Bagh and Rawalakot, further amplifies the government’s efforts in streamlining migration services across the country.
These steps are reflective of the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development’s ongoing mission to facilitate the journey of Pakistani workers abroad, ensuring their rights and well-being are prioritized at every stage.

290-kg dead chicken meat discarded
SARGODHA, Mar 12 (APP):A Punjab Food Authority (PFA) team discarded 290 kilograms (kg) of dead chicken from the area of Harnoli of district Mianwali.
According to a press release issued by PFA office here on Tuesday, the food safety team along with police concerned stopped a rickshaw loaded with dead chicken, to which,the PFA team discarded the meat, impounded the vehicle and got registered case against the accused.
Two brothers, maternal uncle killed in road accident
MULTAN, Mar 12 (APP):Three people among two brothers with maternal uncle were killed after their motorbike was hit with the bus near Rangpur Police Station.
According to rescuer, Altaf Hussain, 22, s/o Muhammad Ashiq was crushed to death on the spot. While the injured being identified as Qaiser, 35, s/o Ghulam Yasin and Bezad, 14, s/o Muhammad Ashiq were shifted to Rangpur Rural Health Center (RHC) soon after the collapse.
However, Bezad reported to have succumbed to injuries on the way, while Muhammad Ashiq after reaching out the RHC.
Police of the concerned jurisdiction was informed which arrested the bus driver with seizing the bus into the custody.
The accident was said to have caused by carelessness and over-speeding of the bus driver, as per the initial enquiry.
ANF recovers 125 kg drugs in 13 operations
RAWALPINDI, Mar 12 (APP): Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) while conducting 13 operations across the country managed to recover 125 kg drugs and arrested 18 accused, said an ANF Headquarters spokesman here on Tuesday.
He informed that 109 heroin-filled capsules were recovered from a passenger going to Sharjah at Lahore Airport.
700 grams of Ice was recovered from a passenger going to Doha at Multan Airport.
241 heroin-filled capsules were recovered from the possession of 4 passengers going to Sharjah at Peshawar Airport.
4 kg opium, 7.5 kg heroin, 33.6 kg hashish, and 1 kg Ice were recovered from two accused rounded up from G.T Road Gujrat.
2 kg opium, 16 kg hashish, and 1 kg suspicious material were recovered from the Dalbandin Chagai area while 13.2 kg hashish was recovered from the possession of two accused arrested near Khana Bridge Islamabad.
11 kg hashish was recovered from two suspects netted on National Highway Hyderabad.
8.4 kg of hashish was recovered from Dara Adamkhel.
7.2 kg of hashish was recovered near Express Highway Islamabad and an accused was also arrested.
1 kg opium and 5 kg hashish were recovered from a drug smuggler arrested near Qasim Chowk, Hyderabad.
In the 11th operation, 4.8 kg of hashish was recovered from Attock and two accused were rounded up.
3.6 kg hashish was recovered from a woman netted near Sangjani Toll Plaza Islamabad and in the 13th operation 3 kg hashish was recovered from an accused nabbed near Jamshoro Toll Plaza.
Cases under the Anti-Narcotics Act have been registered against the arrested accused and further investigations are under process.
