CM visits Govt Girls High School Murree, reviews arrangements

LAHORE, Apr 15 (APP):Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Monday visited the Government Girls High School Murree in rain and inquired about the studies and other issues from the students.
According to a handout issued here, the CM inquired of the students, “Where do you come from? If there are any issues or needs, let me know.”
The teachers and students of the school were pleasantly surprised to see the Chief Minister, who reached there in heavy rain. The chief minister expressed her love and affection for the girls, and directed to get the best medical treatment for a girl with disability in one arm. She appreciated arrangements of the school. Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman was also present.

Irrigation deptt reports high level flood in river Swat, Panjkora

PESHAWAR, Apr 15 (APP):The flood cell of the irrigation department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, reported a high level of flooding in the Swat and Panjkora rivers in district Dir.
According to the daily flood report, the water flow was very high in the Swat River at Khwazakhela and Munda Head Work, where water discharge was recorded at 52291 cusecs and 96000 cusecs, respectively.
Similarly, a high level of flooding was also recorded in the Panjkora River in District Dir, with a water discharge of 64028 cusecs. The irrigation department further recorded a medium flood level in the River Kabul at Nowshera, where the water discharge was 106,000 cusecs. The water level remained normal to low in the rest of the rivers in the province.

CM condoles loss of lives in Kallar Kahar accident

LAHORE, Apr 15 (APP):Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif expressed a deep sense of sorrow and grief over the loss of precious human lives in the Kallar Kahar accident.
The CM offered condolences and expressed sympathies with the bereaved families. She directed to provide best medical facilities to the injured, and prayed for their complete and early recovery.
May Allah grant the deceased higher place in Jannah, and grant speedy recovery to the injured, she prayed.

Eight arrested for selling Roti, Naan at high price

LAHORE, Apr 15 (APP):After the recent drop in Roti and Naan prices, Punjab Food Minister Bilal Yasin raided markets in different areas of the city to ensure availability at the new notified prices and got 8 people arrested on the spot for selling expensive Roti and Naan in Sanda, Islampura, Rajgarh and Anarkali areas and the shops were sealed after registering FIRs.
Talking to journalists, the minister said that he’ll visit markets everyday in the morning and evening as well and the government would not allow anybody to sell expensive Naan and Roti.
Bilal Yasin said that the price of a 20 kg bag of flour had been reduced by Rs500 and the positive effects of this reduction in flour prices should be passed on to the public.
The administration should ensure that Roti is sold at Rs 16 and Naan at Rs 20 in all areas. Bilal Yasin directed that along with the notified price, the standard weight of Roti and Naan should also be fulfilled.
He said that the price list should be clearly displayed in all shops and directed the district administration to come out of their offices and ensure the availability of Roti and Naan at notified prices.

Man arrested for displaying arms on social media

RAWALPINDI, Apr 15 (APP):Police have arrested a man for displaying arms on social media in the jurisdiction of Jatali police station here on Monday.
According to police spokesman, the arrest of suspect identified as Naqash, came after concerns were raised about the dissemination of weapon-related content, causing fear and panic among the public.
SP Saddar Muhammad Nabil Khokhar said the accused will face strict action adding that this is clear message that those who use social media platforms to spread fear and terror will be held accountable. The recovery of a Kalashnikov and bullets underscores the seriousness of the offense, he concluded.
