RDA issues show cause notice to Faisal Town, Phase-II

RAWALPINDI, Apr 22 (APP):Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) on the directives of the Director General (DG), RDA, Kinza Murtaza, has issued a show cause notice to illegal housing scheme namely Faisal Town, Phase-II.
According to RDA spokesman, the Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MP&TE) Directorate of RDA issued a show cause notice to the owner of the illegal housing scheme, Faisal Town, Phase-II, located at Mera Kalan and Dhalla in Tehsil Rawalpindi for launching marketing of the illegal housing project on the social media.
He informed that the DG had taken notice and advised the citizens not to invest in illegal housing scheme.
The spokesman said that the owner of the illegal housing scheme namely Faisal Town Phase-II is going to hold opening ceremony for booking of plots in new block of Faisal Town Phase-II in violation of rule 46 (1) of Punjab Development
Authorities Private Housing Scheme Rules-2021.
The citizens are advised not to invest in illegal housing projects, he said adding, an illegal housing scheme cannot sale the plots or housing units through print and electronic media or in any manner, without prior approval of Authority.
He said the MP&TE Directorate RDA had directed the owner of illegal housing scheme to stop all kind of development works, advertisement, ceremonies, events and sale/purchase of plots and in case of non-compliance, legal actions would be taken against the violator under the provision of Punjab development of Cities Act 1976 and Punjab Development
Authorities Private Housing Scheme Rules-2021.
He said that the DG had also directed the MP&TE Directorate to take strict action against illegal advertisements and marketing of illegal housing schemes.

Chairman FBR holds E-Kachehri

ISLAMABAD, Apr 22 (APP):Chairman Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Malik Amjed Zubair Tiwana held E-Kachehri at FBR Headquarters on Monday to listen to the issues of taxpayers and provide prompt assistance.
The E-Kachehri provides a platform to taxpayers to appraise their concerns directly to Chairman FBR and also give their suggestions regarding tax-related issues and matters, said a press release issued here on Monday.
During the Kachehri, the chairman directly received telephone calls from taxpayers and listened to their grievances and recommendation. Chairman FBR gave on-spot directions to relevant offices to promptly resolve issues of the taxpayers.
He also appreciated the suggestions given by some taxpayers and assured them that their valued input would be duly considered.
He reiterated that FBR was taking all possible measures to facilitate the taxpayers by ensuring timely provision of services and promote tax culture and compliance across the country.
E-Kachehri by Chairman FBR provides an opportunity to taxpayers to directly communicate with the Chairman for redressal of their grievances and also helps keep a check on the performance of the Field Formations.
Chairman FBR has already directed all Field Formations to timely resolve the taxpayers’ concerns through improved service delivery.

Notorious drug dealer nabbed with hashish

KHANEWAL, Apr 22 (APP): The city police Kabirwala arrested a notorious drug dealer and recovered hashish from his possession during a special crackdown launched in the area on Monday.
In line with special directives of the District Police Officer (DPO), Rana Omer Farooq, the police under the supervision of Station House Officer (SHO) Zeeshan Elahi launched a special crackdown against drug peddlers and arrested Rafique Niazi during raid at Mouza Manuwala.
The police recovered over 12 kg Hashish from his possession which was going to be delivered at various points of the city.
The police said that the arrested drug dealer was one of the top ten drug dealers of the city. The police registered a case and started investigation.

OSA Blues wins OSA Platinum Jubilee Cricket Tournament

BAHAWALPUR, Apr 22 (APP):OSA Blues has won the first edition of the OSA Platinum Jubilee Cricket Tournament after beating OSA Whites in the final match played at Main Cricket ground of Sadiq Public School Bahawalpur.
OSA Blues won the toss and elected to field first. OSA Whites managed to score 136 runs in the allotted 20 overs for the loss of 9 wickets. Muhammad Furqan of OSA Whites scored an unbeaten 50.
Captain Ali Bukhari, Abdul Moeez, and Ali Hassan shared 2 wickets each for OSA Blues. OSA Blues chased the target in 11.2 overs with 10 wickets in hand. Openers Usama Mustafa and Ali Hassan scored unbeaten 50s.
Usama Mustafa was adjudged Man of the Match for batting and exceptional keeping while Ali Hassan shared the Man of the Match award for all-round performance.
In the individual prizes, the Best Batsman award was given to Ali Hassan of OSA Blues, the Best Bowler award was given to Muhammad Asim of OSA Whites and Abdullah Aziz of OSA Reds was adjudged Player of the Tournament for his all-round performances.
Principal Sadiq Public School David Dowdles was the Chief Guest who gave away trophies and awards. Senior Old Sadiqian and retired civil bureaucrat Maqbul Abbasi was the Guest of Honor of the final match.

UGI arranges 9th sports festival at Bahria campus

LAHORE, Apr 22 (APP):Unique Group of Institutions (UGI) organized the 9th Annual Sports Festival under the auspices of its Bahria Town Campus, here on Monday.
The festival took place at Bahria Town Cricket Stadium and featured various sports including musical chairs, aerobics, balloon balancing games, and relay races. Students from pre-nursery to eighth grade actively participated in different sports, showcasing their talents.
During the closing ceremony, Rector UGI Professor Amjad Ali Khan emphasized the importance of promoting both academic and extracurricular activities among students. He highlighted that societies that neglect sports fields never progress, while those where sports thrive contribute to holistic social development. Prof. Amjad Khan emphasized that sports teach children resilience and the difference between winning and losing..
UGI Bahria Campus Project Director Prof. Muzamil Hussain stressed the significance of sports for students’ physical health. Even in today’s digital age, providing a healthy environment through sports is essential. Unique Group ensures that its students have opportunities to participate in both classroom activities and the heat of the sports field, he said and added that this commitment is evident as hundreds of students showcased their spirit in this sports festival. Sports not only contribute to students’ physical well-being but also play a role in character-building, he added.
The festival concluded with the distribution of medals among victorious students.
