Al-Aqsa Welfare Trust provides blood to over 800,000 thalassemia patients
ISLAMABAD, May 9 (APP): The Al-Aqsa Welfare Trust has so far provided free blood to over 800,000 innocent children and individuals affected by thalassemia, Muhammad Hameed Khan, the founder and central president of Al-Aqsa Welfare Trust in Azad Kashmir and Pakistan, aka Edhi of Azad Kashmir has said.
Talking to media, he said his institution is not working under the religious and political party, but is providing free blood to thalassemia-affected children and patients injured in accidents, orphans, bomb blasts victims.
He said that the institution operates autonomously, prioritizing the provision of free blood to thalassemia-affected children, accident victims, orphans, bomb blast survivors, and individuals residing near border areas.
In response to a query, he expressed support for passing a bill mandating thalassemia testing prior to marriage.
Muhammad Hameed Khan mentioned that he tirelessly collected donations from the people of Azad Kashmir, Pakistan, day and night to aid innocent children.
He said each week, over 150 innocent children patients receive blood. Recently Trust provided one 100 sewing machines to the mothers of thalassemia patients.
Almost 2,000 patients have utilized the Ambulance Service provided by the Trust over the past two years. Former AK President Sardar Muhammad Anwar Khan donated an Ambulance Van in recognition of the Trust’s outstanding performance.
Former AJK President Raja Zulqarnain donated another Ambulance Van in recognition of the Trust’s exceptional performance.

ISLAMABAD, May 9 (APP): Minister of State for IT and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja Thursday said that the promotion of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) is the top priority of the government.
The Ministry of IT and Telecom is focusing on the provision of better connectivity services across the country, Shaza Fatima said this while talking to Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Zong Mr. Huo Junli who called on the minister at her office.
Matters regarding digitalisation, connectivity, spectrum auction and 5G rollout were discussed in the meeting.
She said that issues relating to Telecommunication will be resolved on an urgent basis.
Quality digital services can be provided by using the latest technology, adding that the better use of technology is pivotal for the uplift of the country.
She noted that a strong digital ecosystem is the base of digitalisation.
CEO Zong Huo Junli said that the Ministry of IT and Telecom industry can jointly put Pakistan on the path of a better digital future.

Muqam condemns May 9 heartbreaking events, termed it conspiracy against country
PESHAWAR, May 09 (APP): Federal Minister for Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan Affairs and SAFRON Engineer Ameer Muqam on Thursday strongly condemned the tragic and heartbreaking events of May 9 and called it a conspiracy against the country.
Expressing regret over the vandalism unleashed on May 9 in different parts of the country, the federal minister said that the miscreants attacked Jinnah House and military installations and desecrated the martyrs’ monuments.
He expressed sorrow that miscreants desecrated the statue of Captain Kernal Sher Khan and mocked the sacrifices rendered by Pakistan Army to maintain peace in the motherland.
Ameer Maqam said that miscreants also attacked Radio Pakistan Peshawar and set ablaze the valuable archive, adding that the attackers damaged Jinnah House, Swat Motorway Toll Plaza and other valuable properties besides defense installations and made a sinister attempt to spread panic in the country.
He said that the model of Chaghai mountains built in memory of the atomic blasts of May 28, 1998 in the premises of Radio Pakistan Peshawar building was also burnt.
He said that the destruction of public, government and defense installations on May 9 would never be forgiven and the culprits would soon be brought to
justice.
