LAHORE, Oct 09 (APP):Provincial Minister for Information and Culture Fayaz-ul-Hassan Chohan on Tuesday said that session of the Punjab Assembly could not be called in on the request of the Opposition.
Talking to the media, the Minister said the NAB was a free institution and it was discharging its responsibilities with impartiality. “Government is bound to summon assembly session within 14 days after requisition and we have already requisitioned provincial assembly session on October 14,” he said. However, the last session of assembly had ended 4 days ago, he said. “PML-N cannot get rid of the allegations of corruption and irregularities even it requisites United Nations meeting,” he added.
In response to a question, the Minister said that all the national institutions including Railways, PIA and Pakistan Steel Mills were in deficit due to which there was no chance of survival without loan.
He said, however, the present government was struggling to get loan from IMF on easy terms.
