ISLAMABAD, Nov 6 (APP): Youth Forum for Kashmir (YFK) and Riphah International University, on Thursday, organized a seminar on Kashmir Martyrs’ Day and Iqbal Week, on Thursday to highlight sacrifices made by Kashmiris and reflect the vision of Allama Muhammad Iqbal.
The seminar was addressed by Hurriyat leader Altaf Hussain Wani, Dr Ismail, Khurshid and Zaman Bajwa, Executive Director of Kashmir. A large number of students attended the seminar.
Speakers said that the sacrifices made by the martyrs of Jammu on November 6, 1947, were unmatched, adding that despite severe oppression, the people at that time remained steadfast and refused to bow.
They stated that these sacrifices symbolized the deep emotional, cultural and religious bond that the people of Jammu and Kashmir have historically shared with Pakistan.
By sacrificing their lives, they gave a message to their future generations that how deep and strong the relationship of the people of the state of Jammu and Kashmir with Pakistan is, speakers noted.
“Today, we pay tribute to these great martyrs and pledge that until our occupied Jammu and Kashmir is freed from Indian occupation, we will continue the mission of our great martyrs,” they said.
They also highlighted the barbarism, atrocities and conspiracies committed by the rulers of that time, drawing parallels with the policies of Narendra Modi toward the people of Kashmir at present.
Speakers also focused on India’s false narrative to conceal the historical facts, urging students to seek authentic sources for understanding the history and present-day issues of Kashmir rather than relying on unverified social media content.
Highlighting Allama Muhammad Iqbal’s role, the speakers said that Iqbal had raised awareness about the Kashmiri rights during the freedom movement and played a key role in initiating the first Kashmir Conference and All India Kashmir Day.
The youth must follow the teachings of Allama Iqbal and raise their voice for the rights and freedom of Kashmiris.
