Xinhua delegation visits APP headquarters, vows to strengthen media cooperation
ISLAMABAD, Jun 4 (APP):A delegation led by Mr. Li Kai, Deputy Director of the Asia-Pacific Regional Bureau of Xinhua News Agency, paid a courtesy visit to the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) Headquarters on Thursday.
Speaking during the visit, Li Kai highlighted the long-standing partnership between the two news agencies, describing APP as Xinhua’s “best news agency partner.”
He expressed Xinhua’s commitment to making the relationship “more robust and sustainable in the future” through mutual professional empowerment.
“APP and Xinhua began this professional journey decades ago, and we aim to further strengthen Xinhua’s bureau here to make it more effective and fruitful,” he said.
Li Kai also agreed to initiate journalist exchange and training programs to enhance professional standards on both sides.
Upon arrival, the delegation was received by APP’s Director and Deputy Director of Diplomatic and Global Affairs and briefed on APP’s national and international networking operations.
Executive Director News, APP, Muhammad Usman Khan Kakar, was also present and reflected on the enduring collaboration between APP and Xinhua, pledging to make the bond even more fruitful.
Director Diplomatic, Kashif Rizvi, noted that “strong and reliable information flow is the best foundation for sustaining long-term policies between the two countries.”
Deputy Director Diplomatic and Global Affairs, Mudassar Iqbal said Xinhua has consistently welcomed APP officials and that APP is proud to represent the partnership at every level.
Other members of the Xinhua delegation included Ms. Zhang Yinuo, Mr. Yang Kai, and Mr. Jamil Bhatti, Deputy Bureau Chief of Xinhua in Islamabad. The delegation members appreciated APP’s continued support and cooperation.
To mark the occasion, APP officials presented souvenirs to the Deputy Director of Xinhua. The delegation also took a brief tour of APP’s various sections.
