WWF governing body holds introductory meeting in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD, Oct 06 (APP):The introductory meeting of the newly appointed Governing Body members of the Workers Welfare Fund (WWF) was held under the chairmanship of Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, Chaudhry Salik Hussain.
During the meeting, the new members were given a detailed briefing on the ongoing projects of the Fund.
Chairman of the Governing Body, Nadeem Aslam Chaudhry, briefed the members on various matters, including policy issues and responsibilities under the Workers Welfare Fund Ordinance 1971, in light of national and international requirements.
Furthermore, WWF Secretary Zulfiqar Ahmed presented proposals for the formation of new committees, which were unanimously approved by the members.
Welcoming the members, Chaudhry Salik Hussain said that the Workers Welfare Fund is committed to ensuring transparency and timely completion of welfare projects for the workers community. He emphasized that the government is taking all possible steps to provide maximum facilities to workers and their families.
He added that all financial resources of the Fund are being utilized for the welfare of workers in line with international standards. “Our first and foremost objective is to initiate projects that set a benchmark for future generations. Our goal is to take the Workers Welfare Fund to new heights, where the vast experience of the Governing Body members will directly benefit the workers community,” he remarked.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the members reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring improved investment strategies and effective implementation of educational, housing, and other welfare projects under WWF. They also pledged to leave no stone unturned in providing practical facilities to workers.
On this occasion, the Minister presented commemorative shields and gifts to the members on behalf of the Workers Welfare Fund.
