Women’s Parliamentary Caucus Delegation Visits Hina Javed’s Family, Reaffirms Commitment to Justice
ISLAMABAD, Aug 26 (APP):Secretary of the Women’s Parliamentary Caucus (WPC), and Member National Assembly (MNA), Dr. Shahida Rehmani, led a delegation to the residence of Ms. Hina Javed’s family, and met with the sister and other members of the deceased and expressed heartfelt condolences over her tragic death.
The delegation comprised MNAs Ms. Huma Akhtar Chughtai, Ms. Tamkeen Akhtar Niazi, Ms. Asia Naz Tanoli and Ms. Zahra Wadood Fatemi, along with Chief Technical Advisor Ms. Minail Khan.
Dr. Shahida Rehmani and WPC members expressed profound grief over the incident and assured the family of the Caucus’s continued support. They stressed that violence against women in any form was unacceptable and called for a free, fair, transparent and impartial investigation, with all relevant aspects of the case thoroughly examined.
The Secretary WPC stated that the Caucus would closely monitor the proceedings of the Standing Committee on Interior as it takes up the matter concerning Ms. Hina Javed’s killing. She further noted that the National Commission on the Status of Women (NCSW) had already been taken on board.
“The Women’s Parliamentary Caucus stands with Hina Javed’s family and will continue to follow the case closely. There must be no compromise on a fair, transparent and complete investigation, and anyone found responsible must be held accountable under the law,” Dr. Shahida Rehmani said.
The delegation reaffirmed the WPC’s commitment to addressing violence against women through appropriate parliamentary forums and supporting measures to strengthen the protection of women and their fundamental rights.
The WPC delegation prayed to Allah Almighty to grant Ms. Hina Javed the highest place in Jannat-ul-Firdous and give patience, strength and fortitude to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.
