ISLAMABAD, Feb 04 (APP): Chairman Pakistan Taekwondo Federation Col. Waseem Ahmed Janjua (R) was formally presented with his Certificate of Election as a Council Member of the Asian Taekwondo Union (ATU) during an Extraordinary Executive Committee Meeting held in Fujairah, United Arab Emirates.
Senior taekwondo officials from across Asia participated in the meeting. Col. Waseem Ahmed Janjua was elected to the ATU Council during elections held in Malaysia last year, marking a notable achievement for Pakistan on the Asian and international taekwondo stage, said a press release on Wednesday.

Col. Waseem Ahmed Janjua has rendered dedicated services for the promotion and development of taekwondo in Pakistan. Under his leadership, the Pakistan Taekwondo Federation has made steady progress in athlete development, education and certification of coaches and referees, organizational strengthening, and international engagement.

Officials said that Pakistan’s successful hosting of international taekwondo championships in recent years has largely been the result of his sustained efforts and commitment. These events have provided local athletes with valuable international exposure and contributed to raising the standard of the sport at the national level.
His election as an ATU Council Member is being viewed as a recognition of his contributions and leadership, and is expected to further strengthen Pakistan’s representation and voice within the Asian taekwondo community.
