ISLAMABAD, Jan 06 (APP):Minister of State for Federal Education and Professional Training Wajiha Qamar met Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Pakistan Salem Alzaabi at Embassy.
During the meeting, both sides discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation in the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector, vocational skills development, higher education, and human capital exchange.
The Minister of State highlighted Pakistan’s focus on aligning vocational training with international standards to enhance employability of youth and meet global labour market demands. She underscored the importance of collaboration in joint certification programmes, faculty and student exchange, and capacity building initiatives.
Discussions also covered cooperation between Pakistan’s higher education institutions and the Higher Education Commission, with emphasis on mutual recognition of qualifications, research collaboration, and academic mobility.
Both sides expressed keen interest in developing structured mechanisms for skilled labour exchange, particularly in priority sectors, to benefit the workforce of both countries.
Ambassador Salem Alzaabi reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to deepening educational and skills-based cooperation with Pakistan, noting that such partnerships would contribute to shared economic growth and workforce development.
The meeting concluded with mutual agreement to explore concrete frameworks for collaboration and to enhance people-to-people linkages through education and skills development initiatives.
