ISLAMABAD, Nov 27 (APP):Federal Ombudsman Ejaz Ahmad Qureshi on Thursday has taken notice of the increasing number of complaints against the Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA). A special inspection team—led by Senior Advisor Ahmad Farooq and comprising Parvez Haleem Rajput, Khalid Sial, and Jamil Ahmad—visited the Authority’s office to review public grievances.
During the visit, the team listened to complainants and later held a meeting with senior officials of FGEHA. The committee has submitted its initial report to the Federal Ombudsman.
The Ombudsman has directed FGEHA to provide timelines for all its residential projects and instructed the Authority not to impose any surcharge on allottees who have already paid their installments in full. He also ordered FGEHA to upload monthly progress updates on all ongoing projects to its website until project completion.
Regarding the allottees of Sectors F-14 and F-15 who have passed away and whose heirs have been instructed to pay the next installment by January 15, 2026, the Ombudsman ordered that they be given an additional three-month grace period.
Complainants told the inspection team that many FGEHA projects have faced extraordinary delays—some extending up to 14 or 15 years with little or no progress. The team issued on-spot directions to address several complaints, even adding some applicants to the official list of allottees to provide immediate relief.
Director General FGEHA, Captain Zafar Iqbal, assured the team that all allottees who were deprived of plots in Sectors F-14 and F-15 will be accommodated in the upcoming new sectors. He further informed that work on all residential projects will commence by March 2026.
According to the briefing, allottees of Green Enclave-II will be given possession of their plots by December 2027. The Authority reported that 70 percent of construction work on the Lifestyle Apartments in G-13 has been completed. The Board has also approved a plan to provide relief to allottees using revenue generated from the project’s commercial area. The Lifestyle Project is expected to be completed by March 2026.
