VC FUUAST expresses delight over large number of students attending established Russian Language classes
ISLAMABAD, Sep 23 (APP):Vice Chancellor (VC) of the Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology (FUUAST) Islamabad, Prof. Dr Zabta Khan Shinwari, visited a Russian language class at the university and expressed happiness over the large number of students attending the course.
Speaking to students in the classroom, Dr Zabta Khan Shinwari said one of the university’s main aims is to broaden the worldview of the young generation.
He said Russian culture is rich and learning the Russian language is beneficial for students.
“Learning an important language of a major country like Russia is the need of the time. It is a great opportunity for our students,” he said.
The Vice Chancellor announced that Russian language would also be offered as a regular course from the next semester. He thanked the Russian government, Ural State Pedagogical University and Russian language instructor Dr. Roman Porozov for their cooperation.
Earlier, Russian Professor Dr. Roman Porozov met Vice Chancellor Dr. Zabta Khan Shinwari at his office. Head of the Departments of IR and Mass Communication, Dr Faisal Javaid and Dr Sikander Zarren were also present.
Dr. Roman described the academic environment at FUUAST as encouraging and inspiring.
Dr Zabta Khan Shinwari said the university is expanding its international academic links and providing new opportunities to students.
He said FUUAST had already carried out research programmes with Russian institutions, while university students are also studying at Russian universities under.
He said FUUAST would organize a major research Conference in Karachi in October on the use of artificial intelligence for environmental protection.
He also mentioned the Green Journalism Conference organized by the Mass Communication Department Islamabad Campus in June, saying that it received positive feedback.
Students from different departments thanked Vice Chancellor Dr Zabta Khan Shinwari and ORIC Deputy Director Dr Faisal Javaid for introducing the Russian language course at the university.
