ISLAMABAD, Jun 17 (APP): Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq on Tuesday said that the Parliament is committed to enhancing inter-parliamentary cooperation between Pakistan and Uzbekistan.
During meeting with Ambassador of Uzbekistan Alisher Tukhtaev who called on him in Parliament House, he said that Pakistan greatly values its brotherly and cordial ties with Uzbekistan.
He stressed that the strengthening of Friendship Groups and the expansion of parliamentary engagement would further strengthen bilateral ties.
The ambassador appreciated the role of Pakistan’s political leadership in ensuring regional stability.
He praised the recent successful visit of the Prime Minister of Pakistan to Uzbekistan.
The envoy also lauded Speaker Ayaz Sadiq’s leadership, calling him a seasoned and capable statesman not just for Pakistan but the entire region.
Alisher Tukhtaev extended an invitation to Ayaz Sadiq to lead a parliamentary delegation to Uzbekistan on an official visit.
He also said that enhancing bilateral trade, economic cooperation, and business-to-business linkages would strengthen these ties. The ambassador also suggested for enhanced parliamentary exchanges focused on gender equality and legislative priorities.
He also said that Uzbekistan offers a favorable environment and ample opportunities for Pakistani entrepreneurs.
