US supports policies to bring economic stability in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, Apr 29 (APP):Appreciating the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan for economic stability to the country, US Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs, Ambassador Alice Wells said Monday that the US would support the policies aimed at bringing economic stability in Pakistan.
She was talking to Adviser to PM on Finance, Revenue and Economic Affairs, Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh along with a delegation.
Matters pertaining to promotion of economic and business relations between the two countries were discussed in the meeting, said a press release.
The meeting underlined the need to deepen the engagements between the two countries in the areas of trade, economy and energy.
The Adviser informed the delegation that Pakistan valued its ties with US and both countries needed to work to create an environment to move forward for the mutual benefits of the two sides.
He referred to the sacrifices rendered by the people and Armed Forces of Pakistan while fighting the war on terror and said both the countries had shared concern about militancy and extremism.
He said Pakistan had borne the brunt of the war on terror by sacrificing thousands of security forces and civilians. Pakistan’s role in promotion of peace and stability also came under discussion during the meeting.
The Ambassador Wells lauded Pakistan’s efforts for promoting peace and stability in Afghanistan.
She said both the countries needed to work together for the expansion of economic relations.
