UN Resident Coordinator in Pakistan Muhammad Yahya calls on Ayaz Sadiq
ISLAMABAD, Aug 24 (APP):United Nations Resident Coordinator in Pakistan, Muhammad Yahya, called on the Speaker of the National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, at Parliament House, Islamabad, today.
During the meeting, Speaker of the National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq appreciated the services of Muhammad Yahya as UN Resident Coordinator in Pakistan and said that his contribution towards promoting cooperation between Pakistan and the United Nations was commendable.
He stated that Pakistan–UN cooperation is based on mutual trust, partnership and shared objectives. Ayaz Sadiq said that the United Nations’ support for Pakistan’s development and the welfare of its people is highly valuable.
He emphasized that the role played by the United Nations in addressing humanitarian issues and crises has always been commendable. He expressed the hope that cooperation between Pakistan and the United Nations would continue to grow and strengthen in the future.
Highlighting the importance of women’s empowerment, Speaker National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said that the Women’s Parliamentary Caucus and Gender mainstreaming Committee are aimed at promoting an enabling environment for women, strengthening their role, and ensuring greater attention to women’s issues.
Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq expressed his best wishes to Muhammad Yahya for success in his future responsibilities.
Muhammad Yahya thanked Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq for his good wishes and words of appreciation. He said that during his stay in Pakistan, he received great respect, warmth and cooperation from the Government and people of Pakistan, which he would always value and remember.
