UGOOD delegation meets PCCR convener on child rights issues

ISLAMABAD, Jan 08 (APP):A delegation of the United Global Organization of Development (UGOOD) on Thursday called on the convener of the Parliamentary Caucus on Child Rights (PCCR), Dr Nikhat Shakeel Khan, to discuss key child protection challenges in the country.
The meeting was held at the Parliament House and was chaired by Dr Khan, who is also a member of the National Assembly.The UGOOD delegation comprised Syed Ishtiaq Gilani and Mehwish Kayani.

UGOOD delegation meets PCCR convener on child rights issues
Officials of the National Assembly Secretariat, including Syed Hazik Bukhari and Iffat Parvez, were also present.
During the meeting, participants held detailed discussions on a range of issues affecting children, such as child safeguarding mechanisms, juvenile justice reforms, corporal punishment and child begging.
Emphasis was laid on the need to strengthen legal frameworks, ensure effective implementation of existing laws and enhance coordination between parliamentary forums and civil society organisations.
Dr Khan reaffirmed the PCCR’s commitment to promoting child protection through evidence-based policymaking and collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
Both sides agreed to continue engagement and explore practical avenues of cooperation to address the challenges faced by children in Pakistan.
