ISLAMABAD, Feb 06 (APP): The United States on Friday strongly condemned a deadly terrorist attack in Islamabad that claimed the lives of innocent worshippers and left several others injured.
In an official statement, U.S. Chargé d’Affaires Natalie A. Baker denounced the assault, calling it an unacceptable act of violence targeting civilians and a place of worship.
“We condemn all acts of terror and violence, including this attack,” Baker said. “On behalf of the United States, I offer our sincere condolences to those injured and to the families and loved ones of those killed by this attack.”
She stressed that Pakistanis deserve “safety, dignity, and the ability to practice their faith without fear,” adding that assaults on religious sites and worshippers violate fundamental human rights.
Reaffirming Washington’s support, Baker said the United States “continues to support Pakistan’s efforts to advance peace and security and remains committed to our partnership aimed at promoting stability.”
“We stand with Pakistan during this challenging moment,” she said, expressing solidarity with the country as it confronts renewed security threats.
