ISLAMABAD, Dec 06 (APP): A two-day exhibition of chrysanthemums and autumn flowers opened on Saturday December 6, at the Gardenia Hub on Park Road.

Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) Mohammad Ali Randhawa formally inaugurated the flower show, accompanied by Member Administration, Member Environment, Director General Environment and other officials of the Environment Wing.

The chairman visited various sections of the exhibition and reviewed the arrangements.

Officials briefed the CDA chairman on the management, artistic floral arrangements and overall preparations for the event.

They informed him that the exhibition is being held after the recent upgradation of the Gardenia Hub Model Nursery.

According to the briefing, the Gardenia Hub Model Nursery is counted among the largest nurseries in Asia, where more than 1.2 million plants have been cultivated.

The officials noted that organising the Chrysanthemum and Autumn Flowers Exhibition after the nursery’s upgradation is a significant milestone.

The exhibition features hundreds of thousands of colourful and rare flowers, especially chrysanthemums and seasonal autumn varieties.

A wide range of flowers brought from across the country have also been showcased. In addition, international floral creations and modern-style arrangements have been included this year.

Speaking on the occasion, the CDA chairman said the exhibition serves as a valuable source of recreation and learning for the residents of the capital, particularly the younger generation.

He added that such events are an important step towards placing Islamabad among the region’s leading horticultural exhibition destinations.

He noted that the show will help local gardeners and professionals gain exposure to new trends and innovations in horticulture.

The chairman also appreciated the efforts of the Environment Wing for the quality arrangements and the impressive preparation of the floral displays.

He lauded the wing’s ongoing work to keep Islamabad green, vibrant, and aesthetically pleasing.

The exhibition is open to the public on December 6 and 7, and families and children are encouraged to attend.

Visitors can also enjoy other recreational activities being held under the Winter Festival 2025. For further information, citizens may contact 0300-5115254, the CDA administration said.
