ISLAMABAD, Jun 07 (APP):Two candidates were booked for allegedly attempting to deceive officials during the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) recruitment process by falsely presenting themselves as successful candidates after failing the physical endurance test.
An official told APP on Sunday that the incident occurred during a physical endurance test conducted at Jinnah Sports Complex, Islamabad, for various FIA posts.
The official said the two candidates, despite having failed the physical test, allegedly joined the group of successful candidates and attempted to proceed to the next stage of the recruitment process, including height and chest measurements.
According to the official, Assistant Director Safeer Ahmed, who was supervising the measurement section, became suspicious and stopped the candidates for verification.
Further scrutiny revealed that both individuals had already been declared unsuccessful in the physical endurance test and were deliberately attempting to portray themselves as qualified candidates, he added.
The official said the accused allegedly tried to mislead FIA officials and influence the recruitment process through fraudulent means.
Following the incident, legal proceedings were initiated against the suspects under Sections 419 and 420 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) for cheating and impersonation-related offences.
The official said a complaint had been forwarded to Aabpara Police Station for registration of a case and further legal action.
FIA remains committed to ensuring transparency and merit in its recruitment process and will take strict action against any attempt to manipulate official procedures, he added.
