ISLAMABAD, Mar 01 (APP):Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police arrested two members of a bike lifter gang during a targeted operation in the jurisdiction of Koral police station, recovering 10 stolen motorcycles along with cash and weapons.
An official told APP on Sunday that the arrests were made as part of an ongoing crackdown against criminal elements involved in motorcycle theft across the federal capital.
He said the Koral police team apprehended two wanted accused, identified as Ibrahim Khan and Khuram Hussain, who were involved in multiple bike lifting incidents.
The official said police recovered 10 stolen motorcycles, cash, and weapons with ammunition from the possession of the arrested suspects.
During the initial investigation, the accused confessed to committing several motorcycle thefts in different areas of Islamabad, he added.
DIG Muhammad Jawad Tariq said ICT Police were taking all possible measures to protect the lives and property of citizens and that strict action would continue against those involved in street crime.
He urged citizens to cooperate with police and immediately report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station or through the emergency helpline “Pucar-15.”
