Turkmen Ambassador emphasizes direct flights between Turkmenistan, Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, Oct 2 (APP):The Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Pakistan, Dean of the Diplomatic Corps,  Atadjan Movlamov, has emphasized the need for direct flights between Turkmenistan and Pakistan, which is the need of the hour and before that, chartered flights should be started, which will further improve business-to-business relations.
The Ambassador said that more dialogue is needed between the aviation sectors of the two countries in this regard.
The Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Pakistan, Dean of the Diplomatic Corps,  Atadjan Movlamov,said this while in a one-on-one meeting with the focal Person to the Chairman, PM Youth Program, for Overseas Affairs and Business and Trade Linkages, Muhammad Shaheryar Memon, here in the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Islamabad.

The envoy said that Turkmenistan and Pakistan can play a pivotal role in regional economic integration, and Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan–India (TAPI) Natural Gas Pipeline project with Pakistan is significant.
The historic natural gas pipeline, TAPI project, is a milestone for cooperation between Turkmenistan and Pakistan in the economic and energy sectors, along with railway and road projects and a 1200 MW power project that will prove important for providing Pakistan’s energy needs, the Ambassador said.
The leaders of Turkmenistan and Pakistan, including Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, are very active in promoting full economic cooperation with the Central Asian States, and bilateral cooperation between Turkmenistan and Pakistan is of particular importance in this, he said.
The Ambassador said that to bring the business communities of the two countries closer, both sides’ business communities should exchange delegations and organize exhibitions, and stressed the need to implement it soon.
The Turkmen envoy said that Turkmenistan ranks fourth in the world in natural gas reservoirs and is capable of meeting the gas needs of regional countries.
At present, Turkmenistan has established a 1200 MW power station to meet the energy needs of Pakistan in Gwadar and other projects in Balochistan, and a MoU has been signed in this regard between both sides.
He said that Pakistan exports marble to meet the needs of Turkmenistan, as its consumption in Turkmenistan is high.
The Ambassador said that the government of Turkmenistan is providing electricity and gas to the country’s people free of cost.
He said that there is a lot of demand for mangoes and Citrus from Pakistan in Turkmenistan.
On this occasion, the focal Person to the Chairman, PM Youth Program, for Overseas Affairs and Business and Trade Linkages, Muhammad Shaheryar Memon, said that Turkmenistan and Pakistan are two important countries in the region that can play a significant role in regional economic integration, and the completion of the TAPI project is the need of the hour.
Shaheryar Memon said that the direct flight and the organization of a trade exhibition between the two countries will act as a bridge between the business communities of the two countries.
He said that there are vast possibilities for bilateral cooperation between the two countries in the energy, infrastructure and marble sectors.
