ISLAMABAD, Jan 18 (APP): Speakers here at a condolence reference on Thursday paid tribute to former Air Chief Asghar Khan on his meritorious services for the country and Pakistan Air Force. The reference was organized by Preston University.
Speaking at the reference, Vice Air Marshal Muhammad Zahid said late Asghar Khan was a steadfast man of principles and integrity. Being a commander-in-chief of Pakistan Air Force, he built it on sound footing to become a combating force.
He said late Asghar Khan was an iconic soldier who would be remembered for his historic contributions to the country.
International Islamic University Islamabad Rector Masoom Yasinzai said Asghar Khan would be remembered forever as he was a source of inspiration for the youth. At IIUI, he would introduce research work on the contributions of national heroes, he added.
The reference was attended by a large number of dignitaries and people from social society.
Chairman Archeological and Historical Association of Pakistan, Dr. Ghazanfar Mehdi suggested that School Road near Super Market in Islamabad should be named after Asghar Khan.
His son Ali Asghar said his father never compromised on principles and his politics was also based on principles.
