Tribal people laud PM’s development package for South Waziristan

WANA (South Waziristan), Apr 25 (APP):The tribal people and leaders here Thursday lauded announcement of mega development projects by Prime Minister Imran Khan for development of South Waziristan and termed it a mega step forward to bring the hitherto district at par with developed regions of the country.

“The Prime Minister has won the hearts and minds of hundreds of thousands of tribal people after announcing different mega uplift projects worth millions of rupees during his recent historic visit to South Waziristan,” a tribal elder of Wana, main town of South Waziristan, Khan Mahsud told APP on Thursday.

He said literacy ratio was very low in the district than settled areas of KP and construction of two new degree colleges on each for boys and girls as announced by the Prime Minister will provide quality education facilities to tribal students at their doorsteps.

The time and money of students would be saved and mostly girls’ students would be largely benefited from construction of a degree college at Wana.

“New colleges were the old demand of tribal people and the Prime Minister has fulfilled their long awaited demand,” he said.

Ali Wazir, another tribal elder from Tehsil Sararogha South Waziristan highly appreciated the development package announced by the Prime Minister and termed it a inclusive and wide ranging.

He said Sehat Insaf Card was the long awaited demand of tribal people that was fulfilled by the Prime Minister and this facility would bring positive change in lives of poor segment of the society.

Under Sehat Insaf Cards scheme, he said every family would avail treatment up to Rs 720,000 per annum in any top Government and Private Hospital of the country and now, the poor tribesmen would not sell their lands and gold for treatment any more.

The youth of South Waziristan would be provided interest free or soft loans under insaf rozgar scheme to start their own business and dignified income besides become a job source for other people.

He said sports grounds were very limited in the district and construction of sport complex and playgrounds in different places of Wana would provide quality entertainment facilities to children and youth.

The other tribal elders termed the visit of Prime Minister to South Waziristan was highly productive and thanked him for announcing a mega uplift project for the people of this remote district. They said Imran Khan was the first elected Prime Minister who repeatedly visited tribal districts and announced mega uplift projects that would change destiny of tribal people.
