Tree Plantation Drive – ‘’ Plant for AJK Day” begins across Azad Jammu Kashmir

MIRPUR (AJK), Mar 25 (APP):Prime Minister Imran Khan’s adviser for Climate Change Amin Aslam inaugurated the drive by planting a sapling here Monday under ”Plant for Azad Jammu and Kashmir Day” mass tree plantation campaign.
Major ceremony to mark the campaign was held at the State’s capital town.
Speaking on this occasion, Amin Aslam said that since the trees have a good impact on social and economic life in multiple ways, it was necessary to have mass-scale tree plantation in order to avert the negative impacts of environmental degradation, soil erosion and other natural calamities.
Sardar Mir Akbar, AJK minister for forest said the government was spending reasonable resources on tree plantation. He called upon the farmers and the people from all segments of the society to take active part to make the mass tree plantation drive complete success.
