Transport Department Chiniot launches crack down on trucks spreading dust and pollution

CHINIOT, Oct 22 (APP):The Transport Department is getting tough on trucks spreading dust and pollution on local roads. Teams are checking trucks carrying sand and gravel every day, setting up checkpoints to catch violators. Secretary Omar Ali expressed his views while exclusively talking to APP on Wednesday. He said that in order to prevent dust from flying around, loader vehicles must cover their loads, and those who do not will be held accountable.
The Transport Department’s daily checks are part of a bigger push to beat pollution and protect public health. With dust a big contributor to smog, officials are keeping a close eye on trucks and loaders. “We’ll keep enforcing the rules to keep our air cleaner,”  the Secretary further added.
