ISLAMABAD, Oct 21 (APP): Minister of State for Federal Education and Professional Training Engr. Muhammad Baligh ur Rehman on Friday said the trained human workforce was a key tool for the development of any country.
Addressing certificate distribution ceremony of mid-level training of organizational managers at PTV training academy, he urged the PTV trainees to equip themselves with knowledge and professional skills to modernize the institution.
Certain institutions of the country, he said, were dysfunctional for many years, adding the present government after taking charge, made them once again functional.
He said the discontinuity of democratic process was the main reason for damaged institutions, and added repeatedly derailing the democratic process had been the main hurdle in development of the country.
The Minister said it was second government for the last seventy years which was near to complete its tenure.
Pakistan was progressing under the leadership of Prime Minister Mohammad Nawaz Sharif as projected by renowned International magazines, he added.
The international media which was projecting Pakistan a dangerous country in the past, was now proclaiming it as a new emerging market in the world for investment opportunities.
He said that peace had been restored in Karachi and the entire country with bold and effective policies of the government.
China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) was a major project, the minister said and added “we are thankful to China for supporting the country to make it tiger of Asia.
It was criminal negligence of the previous governments for not establishing new power houses to check electricity shortage, he added.
China was investing over Rs 35 billion to strengthen power sector in Pakistan, he said and added, “through it we will be able to eliminate power shortage till 2018.”
“We have a major resources of coal power but unfortunately it could not be utilized in the past,” he said and added “on directions of Prime Minister now four power stations are being established on the coal.”
“It would help us to produce electricity on lower prices and will also strengthen the economy of the country,” he said.
On the request, the minister assured all out technical, professional support to the officials of PTV Academy and said it would be linked with the technical institutions of Education Ministry.
