TOSS 2015 remained successful, attracts thousands of visitors

PESHAWAR, Dec, 8 (APP): Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Pakistan Hunting and Sports Arms Development Company (PHSADC), Tahir Khattak has termed the 3rd International Target & Outdoor Shooting Sports Show (TOSS) 2015 as highly successful.
The three-day show was organized in Pak-China Friendship Centre. TOSS is the first event of its kind in sporting arms and allied products sector ever organized in Pakistan.
In the exhibition, manufacturers and dealers displayed fire arms, ammunition, knives, daggers, sword, hunting apparel, equipment and accessories, outdoor & camping equipment, casual wear, law-enforcement uniforms & accessories and security & surveillance equipment while vendor industry and service providers of the sector also showcased their products.
Talking to APP, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) PHSADC, Tahir Khattak said that more than 13000 visitors including diplomats and defence attaches of eight countries, arms dealers, hunting dignitaries, government officials and general public visited the show and expressed keen interest in the products displayed in 80 stalls of different companies.
The purpose of the show, he said was the promotion of the sector and highlighting of their problems. The last kind of such exhibition was organized in the year 2012 and due to different reasons it could not be held during last two years.The participants of the show have stressed need for holding such activities on constant bases to create awareness among the people about this industrial sector. However, the manufacturers complained that ban on the buying and selling of arms is badly affecting the business.
In this connection, Tahir Khattak said that the company in collaboration with provincial government and FATA administration is working on the regularization of the sector. For this purpose, he said Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Economic Zones Development and Management Company (KP EZDMC) has committed the acquisition of 60 acres land to establish special industrial estate for arm manufacturing.
Since its establishment the company has made remarkable achievements in the marketing of such products in world market and products manufactured in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and other parts of the country are being exported to United States, Europe, African and Gulf states.Furthermore, the company has also succeeded in the certification of such products from American accredation agency (BATF).
