ISLAMABAD, Nov 16 (APP): Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has said that tolerance, mutual respect and harmony are the fundamental values of a peaceful, strong and stable society.
He emphasized that, in today’s world, fostering understanding, dialogue, and cooperation through tolerance is a pressing need of the time.
He expressed these views in his message on International day of Tolerance.
Ayaz Sadiq said that respect for dissent is the true essence of democracy and it is through such an approach that social harmony and political stability can be achieved.
He also said that the Parliament is committed to promoting tolerance, fraternity and mutual respect across the country and has taken all necessary measures in this regard.
Ayaz Sadiq also underlined that it is imperative for the entire nation to unite against hatred, prejudice, and extremism.
He urged both the government and the opposition to adopt a culture of dialogue, consultation, and restraint in the larger national interest and to resolve all issues through peaceful dialogue.
The Speaker said that it is essential to inculcate tolerance, patience, positive thinking, and mutual respect among the youth so that the foundations of a peaceful, stable, and prosperous Pakistan can be strengthened.
Ayaz Sadiq said that Islam teaches peace, tolerance, fraternity, and respect for humanity, and by adhering to these principles, we can counter intolerance, division, and extremism.
He expressed hope that by strengthening bonds of brotherhood, harmony, and mutual respect, Pakistan will continue to move towards lasting peace, progress, and prosperity.
